Pilot officer 'Needles' submitting battle report, Sir!
Whilst on a routine combat patrol in my trusty kite, I spotted a vast Armada of 31 Bosch bombers over the channel. Memsaab was riding shot gun and insisted we help out our brave flying aces dispatch the cowardly hun to David Joneses locker.
On the third turn I positioned my SE5 directly behind Fritz AEG IV and let him have it with my twin machine guns, ratatatata! Bullets peppered his fuel tank and he exploded just feet infront of me. Engulfed in a huge fireball he spiralled Down towards our English Channel. His rear gunner managed to serve me a bloody lip before he finally disappeared from view but with little consequence.
I continued to harangue a second AEG IV shredding canvas and cord before my engine was hit and I was forced to put down in the soup. Memsaab and I then rowed my kite back to Blighty in time for tea, crumpets and medals.
