    Default No. 217 Squadron Beauforts

Just completed, six 1/144 scale, wargaming Beauforts produced by Peter's Planes. Call me old or old fashioned, but I still get a kick out of receiving packages from overseas.

Decals are from I-94 Miniatures. I used Vallejo Model Colors basalt gray, yellow olive, and pastel green. The prop hubs are not attached as they will be linked to some clear disks and then attached for gaming.

    Magnificent Kevin.
How I wish they did them in 1:200 scale.

Rob, thanks. It's a bit surprising to me that Beauforts aren't available, not even 3D printed, in 1/200.

I have just received a couple of Beauforts in 1:200 which I will paint up for my Malta campaign.
Does anyone have any cards for them?
    Thanx

Two AIM 1/200 Bristol Beaufort torpedo bombers flying (with a little help from Photoshop) over Valetta. Very nice models, my painting doesn't really do them justice. I have always painted silver windows, but after seeing some really nice blue windows on this forum, I made my first attempt.

Funny I just saw this. I have 3 Beauforts that I just received from AIM and have painted them. Good to see the colors I chose are like some in here. I have decals from MISCMINI so next months project.

A friend has kindly made and painted a pair of RAF Beauforts for me for a Nth Africa campaign I’m playing in at a local store. I see that Beauforts haven’t got a points value created for them yet on the unofficial spreadsheet. Has anyone worked the points out yet for these guys or is there a guideline that I can follow to work it out for myself. Thanks in advance.

    Cheers Trev.

Slightly modified 1/200 AIM Bristol Beauforts in RAF 39 Sqn livery using MISCMINI decals. These were made for me by a good friend, he even added torpedos underneath, 3D printed props and changed the turret to a single mg mount. I can’t wait to get these beauty’s on the table for our Nth Africa campaign.

They look sublime Trevor. I must look up my Malta Obat and see if I can include any Beauforts in that theatre.

One flight of the 39 sqn in DEC-41, Add the 217 sqn in MAY-42, the rememnts of which left for Ceylon in July. 86 sqn arrives in July, and is absorbed by the 39th to make up losses.
JUN-43, the 39th is converted to Beaufighters.

Karl remember when I painted a Hudson and put 60 Squadron markings? My mistake was it should have had 217 markings since they had Hudson's when in Ceylon.
Guess I have to get another Hudson and put the correct markings on it.

Thanks for all the kind words gentlemen. I wish I was responsible for the photos, but they were sent to me by my friend Les that also did all the work for me on the Beauforts. So I cant take any personal glory but I will certainly pass on the comments. I also have 4 x RAAF 100 Sqn versions heading my way as well.

I also like the card art done by the talented folks here for all the extra planes too. Kudos to all involved.

Now more importantly has anyone thought about the points cost for the Beaufort yet. My playing group is playing a Nth Africa campaign and I’d love to be able to use the two Beauforts at next Saturdays meeting. There is an Axis ship or two that needs a torpedo injected into its side somewhere in the Mediterranean.
