Very nice, what did you print it on?

Vinyl used for outdoors banners and truck-trailers.

I really like it. It has all sorts of objective locations, trenches, river crossings, towns....

The trenches devide the map diagonaly in two even halfes.

Exotic! A more tactical map? I liked. A lot.
    Thanks

It makes an interesting difference from the terrain matts. I rather like it. The only thing I might do differently is make the lines somewhat darker.
    Nice job

Bigger, "better" version of the above map.
    90cm x 180cm

    90cm x 120cm

Download link for the 7654 × 3827 Pixel PNG-file. To get printed in 90 x 180cm: Mediafire link for the 90x180 file
And the above 90x120 version:Mediafire link for the 90x120 file

I recomend printing on venyl used for outdoor-banners. Its weather proof and you can write with a marker pen on it (no permanent one of course....).

I made a Sails of glory map as well, which has the same dimension, so you can print it on the back if you want to.

I have an aerial photograph of the oceans surface that I would like to get printed as a vinyl banner. I would work well for those flying boat and seaplane missions. I even have a colorful compass rose to go in the corner.

Just as good as the Sails map Tilman.
    Well done that man.

Added a smaller picture of the 90x120 map.

Btw: The file is not exactly 120 or 180cm long. Just tell your print shop to print it 120cm or 180cm long. The other side comes out at 90 automatically. Otherwise they might come out bigger.

The above 90x180 map laid over google maps:

And I just googled for WW2 maps to use for this idea and came up with this.
Maps and photo were just downloaded from various internet sources. I hope I didn't violated any copyrights.
    Ardennes:

Caen (scale probably too big for my taste):

    Arnhem:

    Alsdorf:

If people want to have them, I can upload the big files and link them here.

Please do... these make for a nice deviation from the standard-type play mats. Excellent work.

i like the game mats ares released, however i would like to see a game mat that looks like no-mans land with trenches and other land features

Patience, grasshopper. Ares is including a No Man's Land poster paper mat with the Giants Kickstarter, which is supposed to be followed by a regular rubber NML mat available for regular purchase (same for the other 3 KS maps too I think).

You'll probably get plenty of use out of your homebrew NML, John. I doubt we'll see vinyl overlays this year.

Very nice work, Tilman. An original approach which I think works well with the game!
A map was something I was considering as a project, but I'm not sure how I want to do it.
You give me more things to think about now.
    Thanks for sharing.
