    Paul,
Could you print it from this post for now? Once we are done fiddling with it, I will have Joaquim push it up to his file on the Forum

I don't mind that you upload it, Mike, after we fiddle with them.

    Hey Joaquim!
I just played my first 2 games of WWII. The first, just to get used to the rules, was a D.520 and a Hurricane against a BF109 and a D.520 (!). The second was a bombing mission, with a B-25 and a Martlet against a BF109, a D.520 (!!) and a Stuka. Well, and why the hell am i telling this? On both I used your Universal chart. And i got to say that its extremely effective. The AI on Stuka, D.520, Pterodactyl, and whatever you want is very, very good. Thanks!!!!!
    Thanks (again)

    Thanks, Nick.
I'm happy that the idea worked.
By now, I only use this one for WW2.

    Hey Joaquim!

After some playing, i see that slow speed counters with high speed (only) maneuvers can be performed (and vice-versa). Do you have something for this, or am i missing something or whatever???
    Edit: oh look! 400th post!
    Thanks

Confratulations for the 400th post, Nick.
If a maneuvre has only one speed (sideslips or stalls) you don't have to choose speed.

Thanks Joaquim. I was playing this way, but i thought it was wrong.

Any idea when the final edition of "How to use the chart" will appear in the files?

The table is fully tested and it works fine.
If our dear friend Mike will be kind enough to create a PDF with both pages on it, he can upload it on the files and it will be done.
If he puts his name on in, that I must really insist.

As for using it, it's self explanatory, but I'll always be here to help.

Edit. You can always use the jpg's in post 33 and 44.

I'm using the one off the page at the moment, but my printer never prints as clearly from the page as it does from the files, so I have shadow images when I blow it up so that I can read it.

    Hi All,

Thank you for putting this together, the progress is great.

I look forward to seeing a fully completed first edition in the near future.

    P.S.
Hopefully someone will update this thread when the file is posted, thanks

The Universal Solo Rules PDF is in the moderation queue.

It will print US Letter size, but that can be changed to A4, if this option is desired. At this resolution, printing it at 11x17 or B2(?) should still yield decent quality. It is two pages, so print both, or print on both sides of the sheet of paper.

The note on the file gives credit to the genius who designed it, and mentions the typographer. Suggestions are directed to Joaquim for how it works, and both him and myself for readability and printing.

In the WW2 Files Section (under House Rules) I see an entry named "WW2 Universal Dice less Solo Rules). It is dated 08-17-2014.

Is this the PDF we are waiting for? Or will a newer version be posted shortly?

    Any suggestions who to contact?

FYI - please note that the file is stored under Games Aides instead of House Rules unlike the previous version of the Solo Rules download file.

Joaquim & Mike ... please once again accept my deepest gratitude for a job well done with these WW2 Solo Rules. It is quite a "packed" diagram so it must have been difficult to squeeze in all the content. Now I have something to tinker with over the upcoming holidays!

Thank you Joaquim and Mike for creating this! I've been looking for solo rules that take into account if the plane is closing or moving away (x wing has a web app that does that). I am in the middle of a solo game now and I will switch over to these rules. thanks again!

one question, if I can use the maneuvers in the orange box, do I only draw from those maneuvers in the orange box?

If you draw the special maneuver you'll stick with it, if you take a normal maneuver in the orange box, then you draw from the normal choice of maneuvers.

for example in 1 closing in and under 1 ruler distance, I would choose from a straight, straight, or reverse and if I get a straight then I go and choose from the normal maneuvers. If I get the reverse than I do the reverse, but in this case I would do a straight and then a reverse? sorry for all the questions. I am liking these rules much better, although I'm about to lose my P51

    No need for apologies.
    Exactly that.
    Good luck with your P-51.

I think I'm getting this. I've only been playing for a few weeks. If I'm using the 2 closing at less than 1 ruler, I would draw from a straight, straight, or L long turn. if I choose a straight I then pick from the normal maneuvers (Stall, short R turn, short R turn, Long R turn, wide slide slip (if possible), or long side slip). If I pick the L long turn I then follow the steps in 4.4 and would then over the next 3 turns do: L long turn, straight, straight. is that correct?
if that is correct, I'm still not following the orange boxes in 1 and 12 which have 2 stalls and a reverse. again, sorry for my ignorance, as this is probably obvious for most veteran pilots. so far, I am really liking this, but the AI pilots are now flying better than me
