Question Starting to play..but early WW2 planes seem to be hard to find.

I was looking for early 40-42 planes for the game..and hard to find match up planes
spitfires and messerschmitts or zeros and wildcats. I did see a zero but not much else. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Welcome to the Aerodrome, Dan, from here near Norwich in the United Kingdom. The early war series 1 & 2 models have been out of production for quite a while but the Aerodrome Accessories store (link at the top of the page) has some planes from the 1939-42 period. If you search the internet you can find some of early war planes but beware of paying excessive prices for them.

On behalf of the pilots based here in dear old Blighty, welcome to the Drome Dan.
As Dave says, there are still a few planes out there but you have to hunt them down I'm afraid.

    Thumbs up

G'day Dan & welcome to the 'drome on behalf of the pilots who fly in NSW down in Australia.

May I suggest you check out the Aerodrome Store run by Keith Upton who owns & runs this Forum ( there is a Yellow Link up the top of the home pages) & also 12-7 Games on line in the US. You should be able to find some goodies.

Also as previously mentioned EBay but dont get caught by paying stupid prices.

Welcome to the skies mate, I have a some of WW2 stuff (although nothing compared to some of the folks on here!) and I agree you have to be patient. Ebay, Amazon and various game company sites need to be trawled. You are fortunate as the US seems to be much better served that the UK when it comes to minis. I'm starting to gather some 1/144 stuff so that may help and try and get the box set add ons, fire from the sky etc, you should at least get the movement decks and plane cards. All the best.

    Welcome, Dan.

I echo keeping an eye on ebay. Often, someone will post a lot with 10 or so planes. You can pick up some very good deals there.

    Dan,
    Welcome to the 'drome.

I do have some Zeros left, but the opponent planes were snapped up for repaints. However, shipping to the US could be reasonable, if you want the planes. See the "For Sale" post here: Series I - Pacific Theater of Ops (PTO) - Zeros and Fire from the Sky

The boxed set (no minis, unfortunately, but a handful of maneuver decks) will cost more to ship because of weight, though.

    PM if you are interested.
