    Thomas,
Sorry this took so long, but I made up a P-51D Plane template from scratch, to amend a Max Headroom card. So, color schemes for other P-51Ds shouldn't take too long.

Anyway, this is what I ended up with, hope it is useful:

How it goes with your Schwalbes?

Those are ready for a while now.

With this mustang I have al the ingredients to run my game at Prague. Only if I could.play test it once more... I'm afraid my only testgame was not sufficient to fine-tune gameplay.

    Die hübsche Susi!

    Great repaint, Thomas!

    Your work always impresses me.

...and Mike delivered the plane card immediately.

    Time to fire my double-barrel-rep-gun!

Just a note: I think you need to shorten the plane card a little bit. The measurement is from ancient times, whem WoG gamers didn't kno if they'll get longer plane cards or longer maneuver cards for faster planes. Maybe we can can change the plane type from P-51C to P-51D.

    Thank you Sven!

Didn't noticed it yet that the card was to large. Sure that Mike can fix that in no time . Since I'll presume you'll be flying a Dora during the mission it's up to you to shoot it out of the air!

    Thomas,
I didn't notice the length of the card within Photoshop, as I don't compare card length with other cards while working on them. I just "assumed" that it was right.

So, I went and compared image sizes, and you're right. 2.833 inches vs 2.657 for my Bf-109 card. That required redoing the background, the firing arc, and a few adjustments to positions of the graphic layers. Anyway, this is the 2.657 inch version. Hope this is better.

    Greetings!

A friend of me give me as a present a few minis of the same scale than my WoW/WoG planes. One of them was a P-51D Mustang. Unfortunately, I don't know the mini manufacturer... if somebody knows it please inform to me about it.

I have found in Spanish forum a friend that paint minis at a good price. He has sent my Mustang painted a week ago and I'm very impressed because he has made a great job!

I bought some accesories from aerodrome to complete them and, here you have the final results. I hope you like it!

I selected HO-L P-51D "The Hawk-eye Owan" flown by Lt. Dean Huston, 352 FG, 487 FS.
Here you have some photos together my WoG P-51D (ref.WGS107C) from Ellington.

You can certainly be very pleased with that pair of aircraft Jose.
They look very smart flying over your landscape.

Here's a file that contains info on a similarly marked P -51 ("The Millie G" coded CY-G) from the same unit: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/dow...o=file&id=2106

Well, here it is. I decided on a wing man too. I used Model Master paints and made some of my own decals using Testors decals paper and some generic brand (preferred the generic). Some of the letters are from I-94 Decal Details and some of the stars and bars are Shed Models.Click image for larger version.

These models look good, Dave. I trust that the tailfin detail on the silver and green plane is one of the decals you made?

    Thanks Rob and David.
David - Yes it is. I had an old decal sheet from a 1/48 scale model. I used my computer to scan and shrink it. Then I doctored up it up for use on this aircraft.

    Great looking pair of Mustangs!

I must learn how to make my own decals... add it to the list of things I need to do. I suppose if I give up I can add a few hours of productivity to my day!

Nice planes! I guess the P-51 is that kind of plane that looks good with every scheme and every color. Great job guys.

very nice all! the p-51 is such a lovey bird! i especially like old crow and gunfighter. its nice to see minis representing actual a/c ive seen on the airshow circuit.

Thank you for the kind words gents. Making your own decals can be time consuming - at least it is for me - and dangerous... The other day I was working on a "Red Hot Riden-Hood" (nose art for a B-24) and the wife walked in. I tried to tell her it was art, but I still sensed disgust and maybe even a little jealousy. Anyway, I definitely prefer ordering from someone else when I can, but some projects are kind of fun and sometimes necessary in order to get what you want.

After seeing Thomatchef's Mustang I had to have one too . . .

Which led me to the 457th Fighter Squadron planes . . .

    Yeah . . . I know.
