Thanks for the kind words about these planes. I did wipe the paint off the canopies about ten times before I liked what I had. I have to thank Peter Landry for giving me some tips that made these come out as well as they did.

As for the historical markings, I just went with the letters that came in the decal sheet. I wasn’t trying to match the planes to pilots, just making game pieces to play with that look similar to other planes during the period. I knew that letter”I” was accurate as I found pix of that plane, then just went in alphabetical order after that, ”J, K, L”. Tip and tail colors are just to ID the planes better in the game.

Simple paint job. Testors acrylic Aluminum and French Blue. A bit of charcoal (prefer this over a jet black). These are Micro Machine minis I worked over. Decals by blood-red-skies.Click image for larger version.

    Peter.
Essentially they are toys. The company is called Galoob. The first ones I obtained were small scale ww1 Tanks Renault and male Mk4 (I think) Painted them up and used them for eye candy at convention games. I noticed the P-51 on evil bay and at 3.99 said why not. I was happy with the scale when I compared it to my ares one.

yeah, i got a couple of the ft17s for my tanks game. while it was nice to not to have to do any assembly or painting the scale was a bit off. they were advertised as 1/100 but theyre a bit smaller.

    More "Blue-nosed" from BRS box:
Note that the P-51 BRS are clearly too small (wingspan of less 5 mm)

But always a pleasure to paint mini models of this fabulous fighter:
