Thread: French WW2 planes I want to have in 1/200 Scale

Default French WW2 planes I want to have in 1/200 Scale

I want to have these planes in 1/200 scale. And the plane cards too.
I think that these are the most representative of the war.
If I forgot any, please do say so.
As soon as I can I'll post the places where we can find some of these.

    Joaquim,
I have just done up a card for a captured MS.406 in slave Italian colours. See my WWII Axis Fighter Album.

So, if you need a card for a French plane, let me know the squadron and pilot info. I can do one up quickly, now.

    Thanks, Mike. You're most kind.

I would love to have these in French colours:

Lioré et Olivier LeO 451 (Bomber)
    Morane-Saulnier M.S.406 (Fighter)
    Potez 540 (Bomber)
    Potez 630 (Fighter)
    Breguet 693 (Bomber)

    I'll find photos for you.

If you have the info for the MS.406, I can do that one nearly instantly.

If you want the bombers done, they take a lot of work, so not quick to do.

I'll have to study the stats for them.

Really nice illustrations! I could cut & paste the bombers directly into cards, and they could look pretty good.

The stats and fire arcs are a completely different story.

Need to finish my college course and the paint job in my kitchen, first, though.

    Don't worry.
I have time for the French planes.

I would love to add Caudron CR.714 to your list, Quim.

    For firing arcs:
Potez 630: C-C/C forward arc, A/A rear arc (like Bf-110).
Breguet 693: C-A/B forward, A/A rear arc (like a dive bomber)
Lioré et Olivier LeO 451: A/A Forward arc; C/B rear arc level and high W/tail blindspot; A/A rear arc lower

What about the Farman 222 Strategic Bomber from 1939?

My local games shop still has a Nexus Dewoitine D.520 for sale.

Shapeways produce a 1/200 scale Potez 540 model.

    http://fandavion.free.fr/profils_Bloch%20174.htm

This aircraft is a bit of a legend for the French from the beginning of the second world war, unfortunately only a few were built (about 50).
During St Exupery's flight he wrote the book " Fly to Arras" about his adventure with this plane , it was very fast and probably the best reconnaissance aircraft of its category in 1940 (very few were shot down) it was directed by Marcel "Bloch"Dassault

    Thanks
