Series 4 Miniatures

The Series IV miniatures arrived in The Netherlands last weekend.

Nice addition to my air fleet.

One strange thing, though. The Pfalz D.III's are light-blue, where I was expecting silver as the base colour, based on various pictures on the internet. Of course, I might be wrong. What is the right colour?

Our artist said that's silbergrau, a pale blue / silver strongly on the pale blue side.

One british pilots first encounter with the Pfalz D.III reported them as "Silver" and I have re-painted mine accordingly using Vallejo Natural Steel. I have also read reports of the colour being similar to the Neiuports, which bears that out. I have not read anything at all that indicates any kind of blue colour. 'Silbergrau' is Silver-Grey not Silver-Blue.

Hi Andrea, thanks for the info from the artist. However I also agree with tonyc206, the models, for me are a pale blue not a sliver blue or a silver grey.
I personally was a little dissapointed only in so much as the models did not replicate the appropriate card, which for me were a white colour. I would have accepted the models I suppose if the matching card had been the same colour.
But it is still a excellent game and all the models well done, I look forward to more
