Is there a solo dmg app still working? My link stopped working.
There was one in excel and one that was a link (one gave dmg for a,b,c,d counters) and the gave directions planes depending on the clock position. But mine stopped working.

One of these was attached to Air Headquarters, Singapore as a special reconnaissance aircraft; this Beaufort carried out one mission, during which it was attacked by Japanese fighters and returned to base to be written-off. It was soon decided that the Beauforts were under-armed, with insufficiently trained crews and the five remaining Beauforts returned to Australia (Depending on the Mark/model, this plane had a single wing mounted .303 MG and the rear dorsal turret with a single .303 MG. Successive "improvements" had a twin .303 swivel mount MG in the nose, a twin .303 MG in the rear turret, and even some added beam-mounted single .303 MGs just forward of the rear turret. And lastly, there was a remotely operated, rear ventral MG, but it was often removed in the field as useless.)

RAF Kallang was the only operational airstrip left; the surviving squadrons and aircraft had withdrawn by January to reinforce the Dutch East Indies.

Planes left in squadron (+1 hurricane) against Ann/Val (x5) & escorts as needed. Jan 27 – Hurricane arrived from HMS Indomitable (MOST planes available Scen 3 from today (Buffalo 339-E/Glad/Martlet/Beaufort) & 5 pilots)
On the morning of 9 February, a series of aerial dogfights took place over Sarimbun Beach and other western areas. In the first encounter, the last ten Hurricanes were scrambled from Kallang Airfield to intercept a Japanese formation of about 84 planes, flying from Johor to provide air cover for their invasion force. The Hurricanes shot down six Japanese planes, and damaged 14 others, for the loss of one of their own.
Air battles went on for the rest of the day, and by nightfall it was clear that with the few aircraft Percival had left, Kallang could no longer be used as a base. With his assent, the remaining flyable Hurricanes were withdrawn to Sumatra. A squadron of Hurricane fighters took to the skies on 9 February, but was then withdrawn to the Netherlands East Indies and after that no Allied aircraft were seen again over Singapore; the Japanese had achieved complete air supremacy.

Well I have a few jobs I could get on with whilst I recover some more:
Neil's to do list:
1. Build 7 Japanese laser cut buildings.
2. Paint the remaining Bolt Action Germans (20+ infantry, Tiger I & II, PAK 40)
3. Finish off special project no 1 now I have the missing part! (Cheers Neil aka Sparky for coming to the rescue).
4. Finish off the aircraft for China 1938 at Doncaster.
5. Paint the other 100+ aircraft I need painting.
6. 3 whole corps of 15mm Confederates and 1 corps of Union troops.
7. Finish off my 15mm Roman and Carthaginian armies.
8. Re-base and finish off my 6mm German and Allied units.
9. Put together the bits for the 1/200 Ryujo project.
10. Go to bed (Oh I am..What now dear? What do you mean the typing is keeping you awake? Ah...I see, If i don't want to see my planes actually fly out of the window I had better do as you say! Ok, point taken. SWMBO has spoken and must be obeyed. Damn 1-9 will just have to wait for another day).

I just had the Airfix figures. They have pretty much slept in the box they were packed in when I moved to the states in 2000.
Probably nearly 40 years since they actually spent time on a battlefield.

I read Killer Angels in middle or high school, or probably both.
What a coincidence. I am reading "Gods and Generals" nowadays (Battle of Fredericksburg chapters). Next two volumes are shelved. GG and Gettysburg are among my beloved movies. Soundtracks are exceptional.

Sue and I listened to the soundtrack from Gettysburg on the way back from Origins - beautiful score that brings scenes to mind. We were driving through farmland with wooded boundaries, etc. - hard not to envision battles or camps.

Yes, a great part of the movie.
The soudtrack is thrilling. I was sold to it the first time I watched the movie intro with the old photos.
Now reading the last volume of the saga: "The Last Full Measure".
I try to track the links about Ron Maxwell's promises about the third movie to be made... but are there any news American chaps? Maybe you know more there? Any gossip?

So you should definitely try BattleCry! No tiny chits, but hexes, cards and dice. Easy and FUN! Darek and me have recently finished all the 30 scenarios playing 1-2 once a week. A blast.

I have placed the planes on the table. A scenario is prepared, and I reread all the rules last as a refresher. I hope to revive my campaign(s) on Friday or Monday, but we will see. It was ambitious, but I believe doable. Just need to focus my time and spend less time channel surfing mindlessly.
The 3 units we follow are:
The RNZAF 488th has 4 more sorties until Singapore falls. Then reassigned to the 15th in Mar '42.
The USFAEF (Phillipines) and the AVG (China/Burma) are raring to go, they have 5 sorties planned between them, and then they get relocated to Alaska in '42.
We haven't even reached the US entries - the air groups of CV-8, the USS Hornet. Their entry into the war is planned as a 2 fighters catching up to the rest of the group on their way to the Doolittle Raid , when the Fighters encounter an IJN Emily headed to Pearl Harbor the March of '42 second attack!

It seems ages since I've been able to get my head round wings stuff but things are improving.
To that end I would like to restart the Fire in the Skies campaign with just the Battle of Britain theatre to begin with.
Would all those interested please state which side they would like to fly for, Britain or Germany and if they would be willing to write scenarios.
I would like to start this campaign in January with any volunteers willing to write and publish scenarios with general/broad guidelines as follows:
(Of course it is impossible to cover the whole of the BoB in just 12 scenarios but I hope it will give just enough flavour and scope that it will lead on to other campaigns.)
January to cover: (1 scenario)
26 June – 16 July: Störangriffe ("nuisance raids"), scattered small scale probing attacks, armed reconnaissance and mine-laying sorties.
February to cover: (1 scenario)
From 4 July, daylight Kanalkampf("The Channel battles") against shipping.
March, April and May to cover: (3 scenarios)
17 July – 12 August:
Daylight Kanalkampf attacks on shipping intensify through this period. (1 scenario)
Increased attacks on ports and coastal airfields. (2 scenarios)
June, July and August to cover: (3 scenarios)
13 August – 6 September: Adlerangriff("Eagle Attack"), the main assault; attempt to destroy the RAF in southern England, including massive daylight attacks on RAF airfields.
September and October to cover: (2 scenarios)
7 September – 2 October: The Blitz commences, main focus bombing attacks on London.
November and December to cover: (2 scenarios)
3–31 October: large scale night bombing raids, mostly on London; daylight attacks now confined to small scale fighter-bomber Störangriffe raids luring RAF fighters into dogfights.
