I just submitted to run a game at Cold Wars in March. Game will be Saturday evening at 6 pm. I put 16 players down but will take more. Hope to see some of the Areodrome there.

Is that S-228 on the schedule from the Cold Wars website ? Looks like that is the only event for WWI
Yes, that's my event. I haven't yet looked through the PEL. Too bad there aren't more WoG WWI games. As long as there is not another one the same time as
my game. I hate it when putting on an event and the only other game with the same rules is at the same time!
If it is the only WWI WoG for Cold Wars I may get more pilots than advertised. That's ok, I'll have plenty of extra birds and won't turn anyone away.
Good looking scenario.
Well, I am going to make a serious attempt to make it on Saturday. If by chance I am not working. I live in Philly so it's not very far maybe an hour tops.
If I'm not in Texas that weekend I'll make the trip out. It's about 2.5 hours for me.
Lancaster is 385 miles from me and the weather is dicey in March so it is unlikely that I will attend.
Answered my own question... see, I can read.
It's where SWA holds their convention, Council of Five Nations in October.
I should say, it is the opening day for the SWA's monthly gameday at a new location. Proctor's has been there a looooong time. Where SWA met in the past is being sold so they are moving to Proctors.
Only a two-hour ride... very do-able.
Hope you can make it. Another 'Dromer from Albany, Zombieknight will be there.
Cool. Do you know if there's a scheduled WGF or WGS game? Or is this catch-as-catch-can? Will there be open space to set up a game?
Yes there is. Zombieknight (Jeremy) and I will put on a game or three, whatever we can fit into the time slot. We are in the morning slot. I think it will be at 10 am but not 100% sure yet. I'll post it when I find out. WWI.
Ok. BYOP... or playing with house $$?
[Edit] I'll translate... too much
Should I bring kites, or would you prefer we fly yours?

No translation needed. I'll bring all the kites needed.
I am, quite surprisingly, available to attend this SWA event on 11 January. The , once again proving that anyone's guess is as good as mine, has given this endeavor her blessing... so I'll be in attendance. Possibly with another I'm trying to lure into this hobby... can't ever have enough opponents, can you?
So, if it's not too much trouble, count me in.
Great! Bring along as many as you want/can.
Here is some info on the SWA game-a-thons. http://swa-gaming.org/Gameathons
Jeremy and I are running the morning session,(think I already said that) starting time is at 11 am.
it was great meeting you at the 'thon, Chris. I am hoping to arrange another scenario with Peter in a few more months, once again in Albany, or parts elsewhere! Thanks again for coming to the event.
Nice, looking to get back in the game. I'll have to see if I can make the game
Ok, Cold Wars game had 11 players on and off with 18 planes in the air. Not sure if any 'Drome folk were there as none mentioned they were. I mentioned the site and all its goodness. Hopefully a new member or two will wander in.
I didn't get as many pictures as I'd like to have as I filled in when someone had to leave. At one time I was flying 5 planes! Thank goodness some spectators joined in to play.
I had the badly flown center Gotha and temporarily a Dolphin that on one shot got hit with two explosion cards! (yes, I flew planes on both sides, even shooting myself!)
To the battle...
Germans were on a mission to bomb a key bridge and had a secondary target of an ammo dump at the compound.
Started off with 3 Gothas and 6 escorts vs 9 Allied fighters. The center Gotha and the one of the right were slated to hit the primary target, the bridge at the city.
The left Gotha went for the ammo dump at the compound.
On the first pass a Sopwith Dolphin was set ablaze.
The German primary bombers went into evasive manoeuvers instead of sticking to a straight flight to the target!
SE5A in a tough position gets torched.
Gotha on fire from a tailing Camel.
Gotha 1, a flaming SE5A behind, city and target ahead. Unfortunately for this Gotha it would not get to drop its bomb load as the Allies were successful in downing it before it reached the city.
The center Gotha put out its fire while the secondary target was destroyed by the 3rd Gotha, who through some exceptional piloting avoided all but one shot from the ground AA mgs.
The remaining 2 Gothas close in on the target with swarms of scouts swirling about.
The bridge was damaged by the Gotha that had already destroyed the ammo dump. Unfortunately for the Germans the 2nd Gotha, dropping its full bomb load, missed the target by a couple of millimeters! Shortly after both Gothas went down with the Allies claiming a narrow victory.

super pictures!
I do love a big multi-plane dust-up!
Sorry I missed your game. I was there but left before your game. I did however play Check Your 6 twice. I know, I know, I was a traitor for a day. LOL
Great pics, Peter! Love to see the D.VIIs in action against SE5s! Shame about the Dolphin...
