Default Giving the prop a first spin

After many years of lazing about in the office, I have finally decided to do something useful and get into the cockpit.

Since I am a novice flyer I expect to prang a few crates on my first outing. Therefore I have sold my prize stallion and invested in four brand new planes. Two will be for me to whizz about in: a Fokker DR1 and Albert Ross DVa and the other two are just for target practice: a Camel and a Spad XIII.

This will clearly be a dangerous enterprise for any innocent bystanders and so I intend to gain experience flying solo until I can avoid all low flying cows.

Wish me luck as I majestically fly into the nearest telegraph pole!

Welcome to the drome mate! Lots of stuff here to check out but when flying I would watch out for those walking trees.

    Hi Wingman.
I can now formally welcome you on behalf of the rest of the pilots based here in Dear old Blighty.
Now that you have your wheels firmly down on the landing strip, do pop into the officers' mess for a spot of tiffin, a wet and a chinwag with the chaps.
    Toodle pip old bean.

Welcome from across the pond, Nick.

There is only one Pole you need to watch out for - Nightbomber. Stay out of his sights, and you'll be fine.

Thanks all! I feel very welcome in these grey and stormy skies!
Last night I used the excellent Tyneside solo rules to fly a couple of solo sorties in my Albatross DVa against a Spad XIII. Each time Tommy crashed to earth and I dropped a banner reading "Friend and enemy".

The trick was to push the Spad towards the edge of the table (thick clouds?) and then catch him on the rebound. Next time I will use the advanced solo rules which have extra manouevres for when the plane reaches the edge.

Meanwhile I am off to the bierkeller to celebrate with a couple of steins! Prost!
