Let me announce this: when members of a community could produce, earn and receive medals like those , it means the community must have reached a much higher, veteran level of integration. Or at least it may be seen so by the others, which is also nice . If this was your goal, Herr Oberst, I must tell you, You did the right thing

I currently get an e-mail every month - so I'd imagine you'd get yours annually Bob

Auto reminder by email I think Bob.

Unless you changed a setting in Paypal, all subscriptions were setup to auto renew. Nothing to do on your part until you want to change or cancel it. You should get an email from Paypal stating when a payment has been made as well.

    A question.

I joined Gold memebership on 6th Nov last year.

I choosed single payment but no automatic annual charge.

When do I have to pay for the next year?

Is there a theoretical danger of loosing data if I pay it the 7th Nov?

I would send the Oberst a PM to check on this Sven.

No Sven, you will not loose any data. After you membership expires on the 6th, your account automatically goes back to the lower level. As long as it stays at that level, you will not be able to add more photos, I'm not sure if your avatar and sig image will continue to show (but I know they will not be lost), and if your PM inbox is full at the time, you will not be able to send/receive until you clean it out some or you upgrade your membership again.

Wasn't shure if my first payment was a standing order, so I kicked the first subscription and started today a new one.

    Everything should be ok know.

It seems the email that Paypal sends out is a little miss leading. Once you sign up, there is nothing you need to do unless you manually cancel it via Paypal. Everyone that signed up last year and did nothing, has been renewed automatically.

This really needs to appear prominently somewhere during the upload process. Having to look it up every time I prepare image uplads is becoming an obstacle to contribution...

Reading this just reminded me, can anyone help me to enlarge the new banner at the bottom of my post so that I can do full justice to Old Guy's magnificent artwork.

The original is in Old Guy's photo album here James:-

I attempted to follow the instructions to move it but it came out as you see it now.

Then it really is just a case of re-uploading the picture in to your signature.

Just down load it to your desk top by right clicking on the image and selecting ' save image as' then in your profile settings re upload it in to the sig file and it should look like this:

That would require custom coding that would have to be replaced whenever the site software is updated. I'm afraid it's something we will all just have to remember.

    Yeah,
I think it is misleading, because I paid twice this year. Once because of the notice, and with my automatic subscription. So, Keith, I have a prepayment for some hangar trays in my account, now.

    Ok,

Go to "Settings" top right corner.

On the left hand side of the new page that loads will be menus "My Settings", select "Edit Signature"

Go to the bottom of that page and using the "Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer:" and using the "Browse" button navigate to the file you wish to upload. You do not need to delete the old image first, as the new image will just over write the old one.

Now you want to be using the .png image NOT the .jpg image as the .jpg is the one that will resize to the smaller thumbnail. (Just right click on the image that I posted previously and save it to your desktop.)

Now you your new sig will show in the "Your Current Signature Picture" All you need to do now is press "Save signature"

But the reason why your image is small is that you have probably uploaded the .jpg file.

I logged into PayPal, and sure enough, I had two recurring payments going to the Forum. One is now cancelled, but the money is in Keith's hands. Not a bad thing, if the Hangar Trays are coming?

Stumbled upon this thread today and decided that, with September 3rd, 1939 being the day Canada declared War on Germany, it was the perfect day to sign up for a gold subscription.

Thanks for all you do, Herr Oberst

    Hi Kieth
I have just been looking at my settings page and note that my Silver Membership subscription is due to renew 11.01.15. I would very much like to step up to Gold Membership at that time so how do I go about accomplishing that?

I dully cancelled my Silver Membership auto renew payment and Re-enlisted as a Gold Member on 19.10.15. When will I see my Gold Membership Medal appear in my profile?

Keith,I will be off to the post office in about an hour to pick up a parcel which they tried to deliver yesterday while I was out. I'm hoping that it is my order. Will let you know.
Actually it wasn't the metal medal that I was asking about but the virtual Gold Membership medal that has not yet appeared on my profile page.
Also this morning, worryingly, I have received an email from the Drome telling me that my Silver Membership auto renew is about to happen and if I don't renew I will be blocked from the site! As I cancelled the (Silver) paypal auto renew when I signed up and paid for the Gold I am now even more concerned.
Probably just being paranoid but I can't help worrying!

Reg, can you forward that Silver member email that says you will be blocked from the site please? That wording sounds really bad and wrong. Off to check into your gold medal here on the site.

Medal should be sorted now. The site definitely has you down as a Gold member. It shows as active for Gold from 19Oct. It also shows your Silver as inactive, but the date still shows the end of that membership going until 1Nov. I wonder if it still sends out the emails even though you are inactive for that membership.

Here 'tis. I fear I might have paraphrased it a bit!

    Dear Rebel,

Your access to the paid subscription "UK Ranks - Silver Membership" is about to expire.

If you have selected a recurring subscription you will be automatically billed for the renewal, else to renew this subscription you must visit http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/payments.php

If you do not extend your subscription, access will be removed.

    Check Six,

Medal now received! A bit disappointed that the Silver Membership Medal has disappeared at the same time but I can understand why.
Picked up the AA order from the post office today and as you thought the 'Gold' medallion was included. A very impressive item might I say?
Thanks for speedy turnaround on my order.
