Indeed; a great deal of wisdom in Peanuts.

Curse you Red Baron! It's a longer walk than flying!

Ah yes, typical aviator... hike two blocks, takes all day, and moans into his root beer all night about it

Yea Rob - and it may be a long long way to tip a Rary, but they are extinct so it wasn't too long

    Hi,
did Snoopy come over with the AEF, or did he fly with the Lafayette escadrille?

Not if you live in Limerick.

Should have flown! It would have been quicker.

I don't think it was ever specified which outfit he was with -- that he flies a Camel suggests he's with the *British* air forces; Camels were a rare item among US forces (only three squadrons used them, and one of those was a dedicated night-fighter unit).

They just get it from the Cavalry; if you can't ride there, it isn't worth going

I always assumed AEF; he mentions General Pershing on occasion.
Truthfully, no one cares about the inconsistencies, we just enjoy reading the strip.

Myself: I figured he was in some sort of "special operations" unit, which is why he kept getting shot down -- he was always going where the firepower was thickest.

I am currently building the Valom "Pup" kit, I think given the weight saving of the pilot, I will add twin Lewis guns to the top wing, and go "Red Fokker hunting" with my newest recruit to His Majesty's armed forces.
I will post pictures when complete.

I figured he was with the Brits. He flew a Camel, and the Red Baron was out before the AEF became a significant contributor.
