Interesting in my opinion are the equal datas of the B and C token set with the complete damage points and the damage per token.

On short distance shots the Bf.109 and the Mitsubishi Zero have an advantage with their additional A damage token.

Spitfire and Wildcat F4F-3 seem to have an advantage at long distance shots with the 41,6% chance to draw a "0" from the C token set.

    That is great Sven.
Yesterday after finding my game rather short! I used up the spare time by writing down all the damage tokens onto a scrap of paper intending to chart them properly when I had the time.
You have just saved me all that effort. Saving me effort means Kudos.
    Thanks.

Great work, very useful, and will come handy when a player asks what is the chance of doing damage.

    Well done.

Um -- are we using different editions? The numbers I have don't cage with this:

    A: 0,19
    1,16
    1(left rudder),1
    1(right rudder),1
    1(engine),1
    2,16
    2(left rudder),1
    2(right rudder),1
    2(fire),1
    2(pilot),1
    3,7
    3(smoke),2
    3(pilot),1
    4,2
    4(engine),1
    boom,1

This is the only one where we have the same data.

    B: 0,9
    1,5
    1(left rudder),1
    1(right rudder),1
    2,9
    2(smoke),2
    2(crew),1
    3,7
    3(fire),1
    3(engine),1
    4,6
    4(left rudder),1
    4(right rudder),1
    5,6
    6,2
    6(crew),1
    7,1
    7(engine),1
    8,2
    boom,1

Yours has 10 0s; mine only shows 9.

    C: 0,25
    3,8
    3(left rudder),1
    3(right rudder),1
    3(engine),1
    3(smoke),1
    5,5
    5(left rudder),1
    5(right rudder),1
    5(smoke),1
    5(crew),1
    6,4
    6(engine),1
    6(crew),1
    6(fire),1
    8,5
    boom,1

    Yours shows 10 5s; mine only 9.

    D: 0,13
    5,3
    5(left rudder),1
    5(right rudder),1
    8,1
    8(smoke),1
    8(crew),1
    10,2
    10(fire),1
    12,2
    12(engine),1
    15,1
    18,1
    boom,1

Yours appears to be a double-sized "deck".

It's the actual data from the WGS new Rules & Accessoires Pack.

You can check (or count) it here:

I asked him for a few basic landscapes, the community here would appreciate (desert, pacific seaside/jungle - like his cliffs of Dover, landscape at night, open sea with an island ...). It is just matter of his time and will, but he is really very friendly and helpful guy. Night and Desert are job for Photoshop ninjas i am afraid. No geographic pictures are taken at night and in the winter to my knowledge .. i may be wrong though.

EDIT: I've just started a thread on this, not to mess here

I think they double the tokens because of the D-firing KI-61.

    Ah -- which I don't have (yet).

I'll recheck the ones I have (first-editions of both WW2 games).

Thanks, I was wondering this exact information.

I am curious though. Has anyone tried to make a dice conversion for the damage tokens?

It's been discussed before, at least for WGF. One problem is that a lot of people are attracted by the diceless aspect of WoG.
That said, there is some reasons (constant odds) for that approach. Since you need bookkeeping for a dice rolling system, if you use that and put the chits back in the pot, that deals with that issue.

That would in the long run be an equalizer. The better pilots would eat lots of chocolate, getting fat. This would weigh down their planes and make them sluggish and less maneuverable.

Nice work Sven. You've saved a few of us some time! I've done this on quite a few boardgames, especially those with hidden values. Nice to know your odds at any given time.

Well, my question was stemming from a different angle.

Recently, I played Sails of Glory with some of the guys I play X-Wing with. They seemed to like it, except for the pulling chits out of a bag part. So, while the WW1 set is okay (damage cards re similar to damage in X-Wing), the chits for the WW2 set might be a turn off for people more keen on dice rolling. If a system was in place to make a dice conversion, they might be a bit more receptive to the idea. I might check into setting up a percentile dice option with the info provided (then adjusting for special damage after).

I already planned on using 10 sided dice if I play with fuel rules which seem easier than keeping track of tokens.

    Added

I just did some quick math on this, and by quick I mean I spent at least a half an hour on it. It reminded me why I went into the field that I went into.

Nah -- it's chocolate; all that sugar will make the pilots hyperactive, and thus more prone to making mistakes. :)
