Thread: Going to guns on the Italian Front with Series Six.

Default Going to guns on the Italian Front with Series Six.

Sat down with Tyler, my girlfriend's son, on Saturday night after babysitting him all day and we decided to try out my new series six miniatures. Tyler took the role of the Allies flying an Italian Hanriot and I was the Austro-Hungarians flying an Aviatik. To add to the enjoyment, we opted to playoutside on my patio table so we could get some fresh air as well. This was a great duel that saw lot's of maneuver, and in the end through patience, and some lucky maneuvers, I was able to get on Tyler's six and punish his machine. My first few shots were single dammages, and I got lucky and wounded his pilot and jammed his rudder. Towards the end of the duel I got some doubles. Just as I thought Tyler was going to make a break for his own lines, he pulled an Immelman and made a death or glory charge right at me. He scored 2 hits on me jammed my rudder and had me smoking, but I shot him down in flames. Click image for larger version.

Looks like a good time. Nice to see some of the new planes in action. Who says you can't have fun w/ a one-on-one dogfight?

Tyler wanted to play 2 planes aside and I suggested that we start with 1 each and see how much time we had after our first match. This duel lasted about 10 rounds and took us almost an hour to play. It was then time for me to make dinner as his Mom was on the way over so we packed the game away but next time Tyler said he wants to try flying a pair of Albatross D. Va's, so I think I'm going to fly some Camels, or perhaps my new pair of Sopwith Tri-planes and we'll see who who.

Very cool Bob. Glad Tyler is excited about playing again! That's the best part

A nice SND AAR there Rob, I'm glad that Tyler enjoyed himself whilst playing WoGF, and he sounds keen to play more games against you, but be very carefull as he may turn out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing

Oh he's a wolf alright. He doesn't know it yet, but for his birthday he's getting a Wings of Glory Duel pack.

Well Rob he's off to a flying start, so I think you'll have to watch your six in future encounters.

    Nice little bout there Rob.
I find that two on two often takes less time than a solo fight. You get a more target rich environment.
I look forward to your next tussle.
    Rob.

Very nice. Reminds me of when I was a kid and we used to play D&D outside during summer vacation.

Way to go Bob - the table top looked like a glassy sea far below the action - apart from some unusual reflections of course !

The Aviatik nearly flew off the table! Close call, and looks like you had a great time!
