Kyte.
Enjoy your leave, Rob.
Taking any strange dress up outfits with you this time Sir?
Have a great time sir - I am likewise venturing forth to foreign climes for a couple of weeks, soak up some history, some wine, some sun oh and some wine
Only if you count 18th cent uniforms as strange Baz.
Rob.
Have a good time Rob - I shall be off next Friday for a week (Norfolk - National Trust visits)
Enjoy your time, Rob
Nice pics, for sure! I'm rather curious
Here are a couple of pics from the weekend.
Briefing the skirmish line.
Preparing to move out.
The Irish Pickets leave the camp.
Rob.
Like the Bagot's Hussars; very unusual!
I love the pics, Rob Was it any specific year, period, unit or action you recreated?
It was depicting the advance of the Jacobite army into Cheshire during the summer of 1745.
We were the vanguard, and skirmishing with small Government units of Horse and Foot.
Unfortunately I could not get any photos of the Gov horse as Mrs Kyte was restricted to the camp on guard duty, whilst we were all out enjoying being killed.

That's a rather large hip flask for your G&T's Rob. Are you sure there is not a shortage back in the mess?
You can just get a bottle of gin into those canteens Neil. Very useful for the winter campaigns.

I was lucky to get them to beef up the skirmish line a bit. Took some of the sting out of the Cavalry charges.
Rob.
Sometimes I envy certain your historical events even though I probably know little about those of my country.
Nice pics, Rob.
