    Default Sad news from Dayton

It seems that air shows have taken some hard lumps lately. I know it isn't exactly military aviation, but take a moment to remember those who amaze and entertain us while putting themselves at risk.

An amazing woman, taken before her time.

I can't get to her web site at the moment, but if Rick Wicker was flying, I'm pretty sure I saw Jane and Rick perform at the Camp Borden Air Show in 1999, during the 75th Anniversary of the RCAF.

A fabulous show. Now, they are gone in the blink of an eye. Very sad.

There is an element of danger in all the things we do, not least in performing flying stunts. This does not make it any better when an horrific accident like this happens.
i am very sorry for the families involved, and those spectators who have had to witness this accident.

When I was leaving the AF Museum last week the woman gave me this brochure for the show. Tragic that such a thing happened. I didn't notice until I heard of the accident how the brochure looked. Bad choice for the front.

I heard about this from my mother this morning. She lives 20 minutes from the AFM. She told me this act had been on the news this week talking about what they were going to do. I have been many times to the Dayton Air show over the years. It normally is in late July not June.
