    Beautiful plane, Rob.

For the decals, are you placing brownish decals over brownish paint? I will be trying my hand at decals for the first time, so any advice is appreciated.

    In a word Eric yes.
What I do is paint the aircraft, and then just match up the brown colour on the decal to the brown on the aircraft.
Sounds simple but you need to take into account that the printout may not be the same as the screen shot. Also go a tad lighter because the decal may pick up the brown from underneath and you don't want it darker than the rest of the aircraft.
Also, if i were applying to anything darker than this colour, I would white undercoat any key parts such as where the snake was going first.
    Rob.
