    Default Airfix Dogfigher

Does any of you know and play this game? I found it very, very fun, both for the playability and the uncommon setting.

I have got and played it a lot. The plot and environment is very funny and cool, and there are many cheats to use if you want to make fun against tanks, ships, house and garden objects, etc.

    It is, trust me!
I loved the set up, where WWII models wait for the family to leave, then animate and fight around the house!

Here's the intro to the game

I downloaded an online game called Heroes In The Sky. This is a nice game and real world but the planes fly like the Airfix planes check out link below.

That link doesn't display correctly. Neiterh does the game webpage once you download and try and run it.

I used to have Airfix Dogfighter and played it religiously between 2000 and 2008. It works best with the Patch which is still downloadable from the internet: There is only the one required and I think it is called 'adpatch1.19' if memory serves me correctly.

BUT ... Sadly the game is not compatible with Windows Vista for some reason. It was this that stopped me from playing it although I am sure I still have the CD-ROM stored away upstairs in the attic. Seriously addictive fun.

To give everyone an idea of why this game is arcade-based as opposed to being a proper flight simulator and allows you to fly ten of the Airfix 1/72 WW2-era Construction Kit aircraft from both the Allied and Axis directions. You begin with a choice of campaign to fly: Allied or Axis and you can switch between the two as progress is made through the levels of each. As forward progress is made the campaign levels which are all set indoors as well as in the garden and the garage of a large WW2-era house get harder. Initially you come up against aerial opposition and attack from ground forces (tanks) all of which can be destroyed using bullets or by picking up rockets and bombs as you fly round the house. Later on you are required to destroy bombers and come up against ground fortresses which are quite tough targets to destroy. Aircraft types featured:

Allies: Hawker Hurricane Mk 1 (DT-A) Hawker Typhoon Mk 1 (ZY-G) Douglas SBD Dauntless (USN) Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX (JE-J) and the Northrop P-61 Black Widow (USAAF Black) ...

Axis: Focke Wulf Fw.190A-4 (Luftwaffe) Fiat G-50BIS (Italy) Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 (Luftwaffe) Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero (Imperial Japanese Navy) and the Messerschmitt 163 Komet (Luftwaffe) ...

If you can find this game on E-Bay though beware last time I saw it there was quite a hefty price-tag attached and can get it to work it is IMHO WELL worth doing so!
