Default Death of Captain Klavora, on 7th April 1941

During aerial fights over Belgrade in April War, Captain I Class (rank corresponding to Flight Lieutenant) Miha Klavora (123rd Fighter Squadron of 6th Fighter Regiment) in his Me-109 E3 alone atacked three German Me-109. He shot down one of them, but stayed out of ammo. He managed to draw other two German planes over Krushedol aerodeome. Unfortunatelly, due to aerodrome's command's reluctance and their poor situation overview, Klavora received no help - and was shot down. Immidiatelly before the final hit, one of Klavora's chasers closed to much to Mt. Frushka Gora and crashed after sliding down the slopes. Third chaser lost his orientation and after staying out of fuel, landed at Yugoslav controlled territory.

Capt. I C. Klavora posthumously was credited with 2 victories.

That is a very tough story. Talk about giving your best effort.

A very intersting story of a brave man. Whereabouts is the museum picture taken?

It's Swiss Aviation Museum (presumably), but picture was photoshopped and Yugoslav markings added. I don't know who the author is.

That's why I wondered about the asymmetrical identification number on the fuselage.

Ah, alles klar! I did wonder about the dodgy serial, as the national markings appear to have been pretty well done.

It's another handmade, but it seems better:
