I was thinking about making damage even more unexpected, and I came to this system, which allows various combinations between normal and special damage – you can have 0 and wounded pilot or 5 and flame*, for example. All usual rules apply, as those two chits are considered one card.
*And if you take 0 and Flame, you are on fire 1 move.
Each time you are hit, you draw one normal damage and one special damage (first you look in Normal).
Normal Deck consists of chits with just points values and Boom cards (if you take Boom, you don’t take special damage).
Special Deck consists of chits with special damage and empty chits.
It all corresponds to actual Damage Decks.
Those chits should be considered as „halfcards“ (normal chit and special chit making full card).
