Thread: Wings of Glory Aerodrome Fokker Dr.I T-shirt

Default Wings of Glory Aerodrome Fokker Dr.I T-shirt

As many of you know, over a year ago I looked into producing a T-shirt that we could all enjoy wearing during are games. We ran several polls and the Fokker Dr.I came out on top (as it so often did during the war!). I ran into several issues with the artwork we were going to use (it was not optimized for screen printing) and eventually the project got put on the back burner so to speak for more pressing projects. Until now! I have had new custom artwork designed specifically for screen printing T-shirts for us. The graphics will be imprinted with a medium grey ink. I personally checked this ink color on each of the shirt colors and it give a very nice, noticeable, but not so "here I am!" bright print.

The front of the shirts will have the Wings of Glory Aerodrome logo centered on the chest (called a Button print), 5" across :

The back of the shirt has the Dr.I in the center of the back, 14" across:

    The available colors will be:

The mockups above are not 100% accurate color wise of course.

I have put these up as pre-order items on Aerodrome Accessories. In order to produce these, I need sell at least 29 of them. To help this along, if you order between now and February 16th, you will save $2.00.

As a bonus option, you can add your name or user name from the site on the sleeve. I don't have a photo of this, but it looks really cool!

We have very options when it comes to WWI aircraft themed shirts, so here is your chance to make it happen. And if sales of this shirt are good, I will be producing other planes as well.

Nick, these will be sold exclusively through the AA site linked in the first post. However, I do ship to Brazil (several times in the past already).

Love these. I'm ordering one, but I'm gonna hold out for an Camel one.

I can see doing tournaments, or demos, with 'staff' wearing both sides of the conflict. Red or black for Central, olive for Entente.

I think it would look great, and be easy for demo participants to tag their respective coaches. Just saying.

That's a great idea about wearing the different colors for the different sides at demos! Hopefully this first design sells well enough to make a Camel, which is in deed the next in line, shirt possible.

Like OldGuy59 I am going to hold on for a Camel on second thought I just might get the Dr1 so I can wear the appropriate shirt for which side i am playing on!

For those of you holding out for a Camel, it looks like further variants are dependent upon sales of the Dr.1. Its kind of like a Kickstarter for tee shirts!

I'd like to get one, but I saw that "small" is not a size option. Any chance of remedying that?

The issue is the size of the artwork going on the back of the shirts. I'll have to double check and see if it would even fit on a small.

You've got to be kidding! Perhaps everyone is saving money for their minis.

Could you mark me up for an additional Black Fokker, until the Camel shirts are available?

    Mike

[this might have been a suicidal move, when SWMBO sees the banking notice...]

Well, historically, non gaming items have not done very well with this crowd. It took over a year to sell 25 of the Against All Odds coffee mugs, and that was at a much lower price point. The laser engraved WWI aviation artwork did not sell at all... well, maybe one of them did.

So with this project I'm being a little more cautious. I'm already out $165 for the artwork and I'm not committing several hundred more to make these shirts unless the interest is really there I personally would love to have several different planes on several different colored shirts

The T-shirt shop said they should be done about the 5th and I'll get them out in the mail to you guys right after that.

Eric, as per our PMs, the Origins shirts have been cancelled due to lack of interest.
