Very nice work Ezekiel!
Another nice one! That silver French built HD.1 is great
Yet another really eye catching design.
Well done again Ezekiel.

Ares Games Hanriot HD1 model with decals from 1/144 direct - origial Nexus games plane card.
Some details are improved like the red stars - those are grey on the plane card.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Excellent again Sven.
I can see I have been neglectful of my Italian Wing for some time now.

Really nice planes Ezekiel and Sven!
I like that one Sven!
That'll have the enemy seeing stars!

Nice work, Sven; I bet your eyes are sore from all those tiny stars

Those red stars are really eye candy for me, Sven.
With Australian Wings of Glory retailer Milsims having a sale at the moment I could not resist picking up two more Hanriots for AU$16.50 each. Now Scaroni has a couple of wingmen.
The first is the Hanriot HD.1 of tenente Flavio Torello Barrachini. Barrachini flew with the 76 Squadriglia de Caccia from July 1917 to April 1918. Wounded twice, Barrachini ended the war as the fourth ranked Italian ace with 21 confirmed victories. After the war he worked as an inventor in the areas of aviation communications and explosives. He died in 1928 as a result of injuries received during an accident in his laboratory.
Playing card decals are home made, printed on white Testors decal paper.
The second Hanriot was flown by tenente Mario Fucini who was posted to the 76 Squadriglia from December 1917 to February 1918. Fucini claimed 13 victories of which 7 were confirmed. The photo below shows Fucini with 78 Squadriglia after he was posted out of the 76 Squadriglia.
The red lightning bolt decals are homemade using Testors clear decal paper.
Decal images below.
Great work, Carl!
I'm curious fro the Ufag C.I reprints from series 3. Those will be nice opponents for your Italian squadron.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Nice work Carl, really like the Barrachini machine.
Thanks Kelly. The playing card decals are so small, I was not sure how they would turn out but I am pretty happy with the result.
The red lightning bolts on Fucini's Hanriot don't look great in the photographs as the Testors clear decal paper is a bit thicker than the white. On the table to the human eye however you can't see the shadow around the decal.
Carl, the Barrachini machine is so cool I picked up the last Scaroni that MM had last night.
Well they all look PDG to me Carl.

Again Peter unreal for the work you do.
Nice work Pete, you have a steadier hand and sharper eye than I to paint those markings.
Nice work Peter

Very impressive Pete.
That is one machine I do not have in my Italian Squadriglias.

Really nice work all of you! the Hanriot Hd.1 has to be one of my alltime favorite aircraft
Looks good. I find that if you give the mini a coat of white first you fix that issue.
Great painting and use of decals, everyone! They are really beautiful models!
If I had more time I would have done that but I had a scheduled game closing in. I was in a bit of a hurry and tried going with just the aluminum. Overall it was ok, just a few spots, mostlly raised details. The tough part was painting around the red '76's and roundels. As the aluminum paint dries it migrates away from the edge so it ended up thinner right along the fine lines I painted along the original numbers and roundels. I have one more I want to do in aluminum so I'll definitely go with a white cover first.
Now - that aluminium is NICE!
Bravo Alex - very nice paint jobs - can you let the boys and girls know which paints & decals you used please ?
"He is wise who watches"
And there is even more fine work from the magic brush Alex.

More beautiful machines!
Very nicely done, Sir!

Great looking aircraft.....nice job Alex!
Thanks for comments and rep, gentlemen.
I've used Schreiber Micro Color #11 Silver (an really ancient can, not available anymore) for the fuselages,
and Revell #45 Light Olive matt on the upper surfaces of Olieslagers' Hanriot. (Enamels)
Nardini's decals are from the Valom kit, those of Olieslagers are from 1/144 Direct (Roundels and fin flashes).

Great job, Alex
Love your work too Peter. Truly awesome. Hadn't come across this thread before so this feedback is a bit behind the times
More beauties, Alex!

Fantastic camouflage. The splattered camo is very evenly finished. I always have trouble getting that even look.
Here's to them what are like us. Damn few and they're all dead.
