    News Report

    From the Sydney Morning Examiner

    AFC losing Best and Brightest

The Australian Flying Corp has lost another Pilot in the last week.
Unhappy with once again having his leave cancelled the Pilot took maters into his own hands and flew to New Zealand.
The Pilot who is unnamed but known to be one of the best and brightest is believed to be New Zealand born and has a number of awards for both bravery and long service.
This is the first time a pilot has taken an aircraft however there have been a number of other AFC New Zealand born officers leaving for similar reasons.
Comments from inside the AFC state the New Zealand pilots are often have leave cancelled when Australian pilots want extra leave.
Questions are being asked at the highest levels in regard to this "Kiwi" bashing culture.
A Government official said "We can not afford to lose these highly skilled officers"

Here we have the Caproni's dawn arrival in Dunedin

Penguins at attention watching the landing of the Capronni at The Penguins Nest Aerodrome.
The escorting Se5a is the one sent to me by Nightbomber.

Our intrepid crew welcomed with a traditional Haka.

The Crew wished to pay their respects to our Fallen so a trip to the Cenotaph was arranged.

Then over to the Victoria Cross Memorial.

Penguins Fed, Watered and now heading for Canada

    Happy travels Guys

Great photos Linz, and good to see they made it safely across the ditch. But have you seen anyone professionally about your penguin fetish?

It is good to see the Guins off on the last Oceanic leg of the World tour, however it is obvious that my earlier admonishment has not been adopted by Rico.
    Quote from earlier post.
"Put that Rico on a diet and get him doing a workout. He has been hitting the pop again".
    Best Regards,
    Kyte.
It is clear from the recent photograph that he has not been doing his pressups!

That boy fear tucked into the Kai, at least a couple of dozen Oysters, mutton birds, blue cod, venison, lamb he waddled out of the mess.

Forgot to mention we now have a hitchhiker I put in with the Caproni a Pounamu greenstone (Jade) Penguin.
I saw it in Queenstown and thought how fitting.
    Pounamu means treasured gift.

It's a good job this parcel only has to travel internal in the American Continent as the weight of all these extras must be adding to the postage costs by now.

    It now weighs 1.052kg
Cost A$27.50 to go from Australia to New Zealand and NZ$28.20 to go from NZ to Canada.

I expect it could have 60 grams taken off pretty easilly... when I sent it off I didn't bother updating the packaging as it was still in good nick, but I'm sure a tiny amount like 60 grams could be shaved off somewhere. Being under 1kg would save $10 every time it moves i expect...

Depending on the size and shape, this may become less of problem when it hits the US -- USPS has flat-rate boxes ("if it fits, it ships").

Typical of these RFC. types Squadron Leader. I get the same problem all the time.
You brief them on a mission and they take no notice whatever.
    Kyte.

I'm quite sure it is not the extra's in the box that has pushed the weight up, it's more to do with the extra packaging needed for the long haul flights.
The original box has not travelled well.
So it has needed to be encased into a sturdier carton and bubble wrapped.

So that's why they keep getting their heads handed to them by the Centrals.... >;)

Yep from my inspection the few "trinkets" added do not weigh much at all & will add to the pleasure of he or she who finally wins the prize!

The answer for the extra weight is obvious!
The look of the poor wee fella turned the hearts of the cooks
And who was it that put the half starved waif Rico in the plane in the first place.
I ask you gents are we to blame I think not!

I have a suspicion that it may well have something to do with that King Penguin who has been after her oranges again.

No King Peguins this far south do get the odd visit from the Emperor ones though.
And as they say the proof is in the pudding so we will have to wait and see.
    Or get blood tests.
Getting blood shouldn't be to much of a problem if the Sargent Major catches up with Rico, it just maybe post mortem.

I doubt that the S.M. will catch up with Ricco in a hurry Linz.
He is a very slippery customer, with all that fish oil on his wings. I also doubt that he will be visiting your fair Isles again in the near future.
That is if he has not been lost at sea on his long and arduous crossing of the Pacific.
There is still no news of the Caproni making landfall over Canada.

I would have to say I'm getting a little concerned the Caproni has not made it to Canada yet.
I was told it should only take 10 days.
I would hate for it to go down on my watch.

Your could check their tracking transponder. Or send a request to NSA, as they seem to be tracking everything lately

Perhaps they've stopped off to lend a helping hand (flipper) to the TIGHAR Amelia Earhart search?

I am more concerned that they have joined her. Here is a new approach to take in the search. Look for her in the Postal Service "Black Hole".

    Tracking number?

  50. #500

    Default

Tracking international is sketchy, I had a package take two months to get into Canada from Arizona, no reason was ever given, but it did get there and in good shape. My worries are enough room on board for the crew as they increase in mass . . . there are a lot of places to pick up fish between the south Pacific to the north, I have seen penguins eat! We maybe should have crewed the plane with less voraciously inclined members like moths . . . just thinkin' and not too deeply : )
