And a very nice job you have made of it Kev.
Rob.
Sweet! Perfect colours for the camo too.

VERY NICE WORK!!!!
Superb looking birds.

Very nice, Peter! I particularly like the staining/wood finish you have on the fuselages of these two. I have to get a couple of these myself - I have a couple of DIIs I'm planning on repainting, but I'd like some DIs, too...
All the best,
Matt
Great looking Albatros Peter!
Beautiful planes Peter! How did you achieve the wood effect?
Those Albatros show a great attention to detail, Peter. Very nice. I'm glad I came back to take a better look. Thanks for sharing!
Btw, did you build those flight stands, or were they purchased as is?
Last edited by fast.git; 02-01-2015 at 06:58. Reason: Added question about flight stands.
Thanks Chris. The bases are Litko. The extending magnet tool I got at Sears. Gimbal set from Aerodrome Store.
The magnet tool has a pocket clip. Luckily it is screwed in at the end. I removed the clip and bought different screws, the ones that have a funnel shaped head. I had to drill a bevel into the base to fit the screws. If we ever put on a game with altitude these will work great.

Very impressive Jasta line-up.
Seems like you've made full use of the Aviation Wings decal sheet![]()

Smashing stuff, Tim - such pretty color schemes - simple but 'colorful'...I like the 'early war' stuff quite a lot...
Keep up the inspiring work.
All the best,
Matt
Thanks for the REP Matt!
I really like the early stuff, too. I have actually bypassed a load of 1915 kites in order to do these, and then to progress into 1917.
I need to radically speed up production if I am to get a chance to do more early planes.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Wow, they're even more impressive in formation!
Thanks Daryl!
I hope they'll be more impressive again when I add the remaining D.Is and the D.IIs!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Love your work Tim, a lot of time and effort there, well done.
Thanks, Carl!

Somehow missed this one and can only say how great all the paint jobs are. Thanks guys.
Very sharp! Another great squadron Tim.
All the Alb D.Is above would make a fine addition to any air fleet.
Somehow must have missed Tim's super D.I's when first posted.
Wonderful, wonderful work mate. Really super!![]()

Very nice Tim. Albatros D.Is, soon to be the new rage in OTT.
Outstanding Tim, truly outstanding. Hard to follow, but here's my humble contribution. Two Shapeways models by Reduced Aircraft Factory. Paints a mixture of Valejo and Misterkit. The decals are partly from Miscmini (the crosses) and my own efforts. The latter are poor by comparison with others, partly because of lack of skill on my part and partly because I only have a relatively cheap inkjet printer. But I like to tryThey represent Ltns Otto Höhne and Jürgen Sandel of Jasta 2 and have been painted up in readiness for the forthcoming OTT campaign, "Bold Young Men" covering October to December 1916.

Mike, there is a guy in Canada selling decals sets and Alb DI and II are some of them. Not sure if shipping would make it out of the question. I have these sets and I think they are worth it.
