Thread: Official Ju 52 (1/200) Painting Thread

  1. #1

Default Official Ju 52 (1/200) Painting Thread

I had purchased two Ju 52 Zvezda plastic kits, assembled and airbrushed them. The bases were cut out from plexiglass.
The only change I made was to drill holes for dorsal rear gunners and attaching "machine guns".
Paints used are Pactra acrylic RLM70/71/65 (Black Green/Dark Green/Light Blue).
Hope you like them as I do

Nice job Andrzej. When I bought mine I was a bit disappointed that the top of the aircraft was not corrugated like the rest

    Really great work, Andrzej!

    I like them.

We really need to play a Ju 52 sceanrio next year in Prague!

Very nice. I need to find a store that sells those kits here.

They are being sold very cheap here, like 10 PLN, that equals app. 3,30 USD.

Well done, Sven. The desert overall color is true to original. The white identification band is nicely painted.
The green one is very nice as well. It can serve in the Eastern Front supply or air drop missions.
But I remember I saw a greater bases for them that you had showed us in Prague, right? Frankly I followed your example cutting out mine ones

Great to see a few more examples of WWII aircraft on the showcase Sven. You and Andrzej have done us proud as usual.

Great addition to your airforce Carl.
I can see this is another war on which I'm going to have to get up to speed. One book by Hemmingway and a couple of articles in Wargames Illustrated just don't seem to cut the mustard any more.

Fascinating period in history. If you intend to make any Nationalist aircraft I have uploaded some decal patterns for the Ju 52 and Bf 109.

Thanks for the kind offer Carl, but I think I will restrict myself to just reading up on the period for now, and watch you chaps grab all the glory.

Default Ostfront 1/200 Junkers Ju 52 (Zvezda)

Another 'Tante Ju' for the showcase - this one with a hastily applied winter Eastern Front scheme representing an aircraft involved in dropping supplies to the Sixth Army encircled at Stalingrad.

Some real nice JU 52's there. Andy, Thomas and Carl very nice paint jobs and all different. Zvezda aircraft looking good. I have only managed to find 1/144th scale aircraft, I have a JU87. Could one of you post a link to the 1/200th section? Please.

Noble Knight miniatures have the 1/200 Ju 52 and Li-2 in the 1/144 scale section here http://www.nobleknight.com/ViewProdu..._A_GenreID_E_0

There is no sign of the 1/200 scale Junkers Ju 88 but apparently one does exist...........

The cards are played a little differently due the very slow speed, see this thread here: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sho...g-Catalina-PBY

    Cheers,

Their is one to be released by Zvezda together with two other twin engined bombers in 1/200. It was stated in the beginning of this year to be a 2013 release but haven't heard of it since.

Zvezda are supposed to be releasing a Ju88, a Blenheim and a Russian bomber, the name of which escapes me. Due out later this year.

What I need Carl is a set of cards like this for my Swordfish, which I can't fly at the moment. Do you have any idea what length of arrows I would need to do?

My winter impression on the Ju52. I "repainted" one of my green ones into this. Applied white with the airbrush in streaks and then heavily washed it with black to give that dirty used look.

I have noticed that many of the German planes have some part painted yellow. Is there a reason for that?
