Very neat clean lines to those Tony. You must have a very steady hand.
Rob.
Rob,
Rob tell Kyte I have a steady had because I gave up Gin and Tonic years ago! Actually the canopy detail is nicely raised on the AIM aircraft. They are very nice to work with and should get the credit.

I wound up with the three Kates from Wing Kit 1 by F-Toys four years or so ago. Lucked into them.
I wanted another "green" Kate to complete a 3 plane "game squadron" to use in games. I didn't like the silver one in games. All I could find was an old mold, Arii Kate. From, well, I think a brontosarous made the original mold. Anyway, I took a shot at it, and didn't do too terribly bad. I got my 3 plane "game squadron"!

This is where a picture is worth a thousand words on the phone Neil.
Besides it's also cheaper.
They sounded good when you described them, but they look so much more in the flesh so to speak.
I must get some Torps and bombs for my Beaufighters.
Rob.

Coming with both bomb and torpedo they just cried out for mini-magnets so I can field them as either variant.
When the 4 Val's get here they are getting the same treatment, green overcoats. I want them for Coral Sea, hence the green.
See you on the Dark Side......
Looking nice, Neil. Did you mention in another post about torpedoes in the water? If so, any pics?

Not painted yet but soon, soon. Its a long way to Hawaii you know. I don't think a Japanese torpedo has the range if I launched (dropped?) them yet.
See you on the Dark Side......
Looking good Neil! They will make a nice target for the Allies
Want a wingman Skafloc san?
Kiteo.

(I would be honoured to have you as my wing man Kiteo San and together we could soar like the cranes of mount Heiji and fall on our enemies like the apple blossom falling in a gentle autumn wind.)

See you on the Dark Side......
That's not quite what Google tells me Skafloc san.
I would honored to have as a wing man Kiteo San my you. In order to soar like a crane Heiji mountain collapsed on the floor of our enemies, such as apple flower petal soft that lost light autumn breeze and and, flying toward the tip of me.
Kyto.

Yes it somewhat gets lost in the reverse translation.

I thought it was hilarious. So much for Google translate.

My pair of Kates (AIM):
Beautiful birds, Barry.
And Betty's? Do you have Betty's?
I've already seen your Lilly's and I've already felt the need to ask you for your address for no reason at all...
VERY nice work!!! especially impressed with the "spotted" plane on the right. may I ask how you managed that detail???
"old brush" w/ little green paint- sort of like dry brush technique?

Thanks Andy. What do you use for deck, hits and guns for the Kate?
This is perfect, Peter!
I want to see more!
REP!
Peter, that is a magnificent piece of artwork.
Just the rest of the Squadron to do then.

Outstanding work, Peter, as always!
If you're taking orders... I'd love a Nakajima B5N2 "Kate" torpedo bomber from the carrier Shōkaku (or Zuikaku), early-mid 1942.
B5N Type 97 Carrier Attack Bomber "Kate" E1 311 - Shokaku - Dec 1941
Funny, that is what I am working on for my Japanese carrier squadron, Shōkaku. I just really liked the scheme I did first but what you posted is next in line.
Outstanding!
All,
There are cards available for a lot of unofficial planes, done by Max Headroom. Karl [Jager] uploaded many to his albums, of which this one might be of interest: Nakajima B5
Look for others, you may find a few that work for you.
PS: Chris, this one, in particular: B5, IJN Shokaku

Thank you Mike!
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Thanks for the links Mike. So far what I have found on the web indicates that the majority only had one rear firing gun with a few with 2 additional forward firing wing guns.
I see its speed very close to the Aichi Val but would it have the same diving ability as the Val?
Torpedo is interchangeable with a bomb by using tiny magnets. I LOVE IT!
Thanks for the cards Baz!
Thanks for the underside view. That's awesome. Where did you get the munitions and the mini magnets?
BTW - I'm also extremely impressed by your paint work. That has got to be one tough livery and you nailed it.
Munitions come with the aim aircraft. 1 torpedo and 1 bomb per aircraft!
AIM also do a torpedo marker. 4 to a pack.
Minimagnets sourced mine from ebay. 100 for £5 from China me thinks.
See you on the Dark Side......
