Default Quick and Dirty Stands or Desperate Measures!!!

Big game planned for today and the Litko stands ordered a few weeks ago had not materialised. Since we were using Armaments in Miniature models we needed to come up with a stop gap. So a quick trip to the hardware store and some cutting and drilling and screwing (control yourselves, I used a battery powered drill) and here is the end result...

All I used was some MDF board cut to normal stand size and long 9mm dowels cut to size and screwed to the stands. Blu-tack on top and then a magnetic ball bearing just perfect for the Armaments in Miniature models which have a screw in the base.

So, whilst looking decidedly ugly, they were very effective and the game went on! See my other post for how that turned out.

But, and there has always got to be a "BUT". But after the game was finished the postie (postman) arrived with the Litko Stands. Murphy is alive and well it seems.

    Cheers,

    Geoff

Nice! My first attempt at improvised stands were squares of 1/8" white plastic (left over from installing a blind) and lengths of 12 gauge insulated wire. I stripped a bit of insulation off one end of the wire which fit into a hole drilled into the plastic base.

I have since upgraded to squares of plexiglass with Litko flight stand pegs.

Nice work. The game must go on!
