Bloody Beautiful, Rob.
Whose model is that?![]()
How about flying boats? A CC and a few W.18's.
Ian
Well here is mine.
It is based on a colour scheme used by a Naval Unit flying Phoenix D.II & III's

Nice work! Those floats look fantastic Barry, how did you get that colour?
A Hansa Brandenberg W12, a brace of W29s and a KDW

Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Well those just put the gilt on the Gingerbread for me Steve.
You will not need anyone else's seaplanes or flyingboats to bolster this lot.
You can run a whole scenario on your own account.

Great job!
Steve, did you use commercialy available decals, or are those homemade?
The naval lozenge is from 1/144 Direct on Ebay (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/1-144-Direc...p2047675.l2563), crosses from Dom's Decals. The personal markings and serials on the W12 and W29s are home made.

Ohh come on this is not fair...my wish list is now longer than the aircraft I own!
See you on the Dark Side......
Slap me sideways, Steve, you've been busy
I need to compare notes on painting techniues with you
( read steal shamelessly)
Nicely done Cole
Very nice, blends right in with the carpet!... I mean ocean.
Very tasty it is too Cole.
I nearly said like a piece of cake.

Stunning planes guys!!! I especially liked yours Rob, i dont know why but its beautiful!
I wish I could fond 1/144 planes nearby.
Thanks
Nick
Great to find this updated thread! I have the W29 and a CC on order from Shapeways and can't wait to get working on them when they arrive. Thanks for the tips on where to order decals, guys. I now need to acquire the Osprey Seaplanes vol. 2 to look at tasty profiles/pictures (not that I can't surf the Net and find some too...)
All of the planes above look lovely - well done, all involved!
All the best,
Matt Materne
Thanks guys! I have 2 AARs to submit yet, but I have a feeling that my new Brandenburg will soon be taking part in our little campaign. Who knows? The HMS Iron Duke may not have seen the last of the Central Powers yet...
Superbly done Cole....very nice detail.![]()
Really nice looking seabirds James.
Many thanks.... I'm REALLY tempted to get 2 more to finish the unit!
I also have two W.12's, D.4's, Babies and several other sea birds eying me from the shelf!!!!
I bought a few on Shapeways 1 day 20% sale but they won't get near the top of my painting list for some time.![]()
The threesome of W.29s turned out lovely, James! Very inspiring, as are all of the planes on this thread. I am resolved to apply decals to mine over this winter break - heck, I may even finish the little beastie (or come close, anyway)
All the best!
Matt
Three more beauties there James.
I love those oil stains under the engine block.

Very well done! How did you put such detail on the pilots?
Extremely detailed planes James!I'm in love with them. <3
I must say the collection of other aircraft in this topic are most Hans-ome and my own collection is just the tip of the iceBergs.
I have two W.12's awaiting my attention plus 2 Wingnut Wings W.29's and a single W.12.
Hansa-Brandenburg W series seaplanes are without a doubt my favourite of all the aircraft from that era.
I can only REP you for one you posted today - I chose this one !

Youve been busy while the site was down, Mike.

The Brandenburg W 29 prototype #2204 as shown in the Windsock Datafile #55. The model is Shapeways by wow in FUD back when FUD was not as expensive as it is now. The hex pattern and crosses are from 1/144 Direct and the numbers are from Fighting Piranha Graphics. The figures are also Shapeways from ReducedAircraftFactory.
You will notice from the above photograph that the wow model is missing a spar from the float to the back of the wing. I didn't notice that until I started painting. The ColumbiaAerodrome version of this aircraft has the correct spars, but I like the detail and smoothness of the FUD material. Unfortunately this model is now terribly expensive.
Great flight of flying Boats Ray. Nice subtle differences to tell them apart besides the numbers.
