Amazing!
Great great job. Looks like originals.
The helix is not supplier with the model? I refer the stopped helix.
Cheers!
My Dauntless Dive Bombers:
A pair of very nice paint jobs. I'm envious!

Looking good Carl. Very nice. What color do you use for your upper surfaces?
Tony
They certainly look very good Carl. I will have to bear them in mind if I decide to expand my combat area.
Rob.
The more and more I look at these WW2 planes the more and more I want to jump into WGS as well. But alas, I must resist... or suffer the wrath of the swmbo! Nice jobs on all of them.
I resisted for two years with the help of WWII Anonymous Stephen.
But last week I finally cracked, succumbed to the pretty colours, and bought my first plane. Within days I was on a three a day habit.
So beware the excitement of the AARs lest they snare you. Remember that once in there is no way back.

OH! Sh--wepps.
Rob.
Wow.... Now thats a collection! But see all the boxes in the background? I would need at least 3 times as many so I could build a spacious dog house I'd be living in LOL !
Have to say you have me beat. I only have 82 wings WWII planes and 90 WWI with the next series on order. Also 95 F-Toys and 3 AIM Kates that I have to get decals on. SWMBO ask why I need so many an d I just tell her because they are there.
Here's my pair of the ladies Dauntless:
Your Dauntless's are awesome, Barry!
Rob, the Merit models look really nice repainted. These go with the 1/200 USS Hornet don't they (I've had my eye on that ship, but there's just no room for such a large model in my space).
They are intended for the Hornet Jim, but I prefer to have them flying above reduced scale Flat tops.
Looks better in photographs.

These models look quite nice! Great painting jobs everyone!
Rob, did you find those Merit aircraft easy to mount to the stand? I'm thinking of getting a few to supplement my US pacific force, as well as a few Wildcats since they seem to be pretty hard to find these days.
I hadn't seen these, Rob. Very good!
Just hedging my bets , in case Neil manages to get one of my Carriers into the Pacific Quim.

Right, that makes sense. The rear arc would be helpful. Thanks for the answers.
Very nice, John.

Great to see some of your painted stuff, John - keep 'em coming!
All the best,
Matt
That is a very attractive Flight John.
The painting on the canopy is excellent.
Have you considered adding spinning props?
Rob.

That's the next project, learning to do props. Cappy Tom has explained it to me in detail, but I haven't tried it, yet.
Nice painting!
But I don't know if you save your tail.

Good job, Peter!
REP!
You have made a superb job of those Peter.
The detailing has been brought out superbly.
I just hope that the official release can stand comparison.

Thanks guys. I'm sure the ARES ones will be nice but they won't look battle worn. I prefer planes that have that look of wear on them. I still have 6 more AIM ones to do which is great as I can paint some to mate up with the ARES ones.
Again, I didn't paint these. I asked if it was possible to get a Dauntless with the cockpit open. And Kevin (user miscmini) did - he took an AIM model (I think) "I would remove the blacked out area of the canopy, the peg, and add some type of crew figure as well." I love it. He even put then in VS-8 markings - to match my chosen carrier in the "Fire in the Skies" campain.
All I can say is Kevin made a very fine job of it. You have just told us how very pleased with the result Mischa.
All we need to do now is get Kev to reply so we can slip him some Rep.
Let me know when he replies.
Rob.

Thanks all. I've been decisively engaged with some 54mm figures and am just now starting to recover - trying to figure out how Christmas and 2017 sneaked up on me.
Two SBDs of Bombing Three off the Yorktown looking for the Japanese carreirs near Midway, 4 June 1942. Models are repaints of the Ares Ruet A-24, currently available on clearance from Miniature Market. The Ruet Banshee might be the most striking of the three schemes used for Ares releases (I do like the Kirkendahl SBD-5, but light gray instead of white for the USN tricolor scheme?), but to me the models look far better as as 1942-era Slow But Deadlys. Paints used were Italeri and Vallejo, with panel lines and dive brake perforations accented by pencil and the soft plastic radio masts removed and replaced. Decals are by Miscellaneous Miniatures.
