Great job John - they look perfect for the job. I just hope andthey don't suffer the same fate as many other aircraft on their first time out

DH2 5998 - John Oliver Andrews. The scheme is slightly different than Tim's above (fuselage colour and outer strut colours). This was based on Eduard instructions - so probably wrong, but here it is anyway.
I thought about painting out the white outline of the roundels but that looked a bit tricky with the light green rib tapes and painting them blue would make the blue too large. (See the post in the Metal & Resin kit forum for other irritations with this kit.) So, I left....maybe this can be an oddball plane that ended up in Palestine (not sure where 5998 actually ended up). Changed my mind - I painted out the white outline and while I was added I painted the red on the wheels larger.

A couple of RAF Shapeways DH2 - both 24 Sqn: 5924 - David Mary Tidmarsh (CDL) and 5964 - Lanoe George Hawker. Miscmini decals - yes, Tim (Flying Helmut) is right, the roundels are a wee bit too small. I was going to use the Miscmini '4' decal on the CDL but took Tim's research to heart and went with Hawker and Tidmarsh.
Also. the Shapeways models were a delight compared to the frustration of the Reviresco metal one.

Sharply done, Paul! I especially like the struts and propeller tips.
nicely done, see a lot of shapeways in our future....
Those two are very well finished Paul. Quite the bee's knees in fact.

Now, those are seriously nice, well done.
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
Thanks, everyone.
It's the first time I tried the floor polish treatment - 6 times done over a week (i.e., every now and then put a coat of polish on the model). Both models were primed with a dark umber gesso (gesso is a fine arts primer), but I probably should have done the CDL one in a white gesso followed by an ink wash (maybe a yellow ochre ink). The reason for that it's tough for the cream CDL colour (white with a touch of raw sienna) to cover a dark colour. What you see is an all over CDL (not covering the lines that outline flaps, etc.). Then do highlights with a lighter version and when I'm done the lighter version I thin out the paint (I use artist acrylic paints which dry fast) quite a bit and then apply the wash over all the CDL areas including the dark lines - makes it less stark (or cartoonish if you prefer). LoL
The PC10 is an olive drab with a touch of burnt sienna (both grey versions of green and red) lightened with white. By varying the amount of burnt sienna you'll get anything from a PC10 brown to a PC10 green - just like in real life. Next PC10 I do I might try something like adding a touch of burnt sienna to Hooker's green to get a greener finish.
When the weather is warm enough I will try spray coating the models and see how that goes.
These planes look great!
Yes, but surprisingly not with building / painting planes. I did the floor polish prep for these over a two week period. The painting goes quickly but I mix all of my colours using artist acrylics, so I these had to wait until the Sopwith Pups were at a stage when I could use the same mix for both the DH2s and Pups.
