I know the picture quality is not great but its about the best I can do.
Model is the Skytrex/Red Eagle one with some extra strut and u/c work.
UPDATE: I`ve since added another `Fee` to my collection since posting this with the later version of the oleo U/C.

Even more superlatives needed to describe these aircraft Kev. Anyone would be proud to fly those.

Wow, those are great. I'm reading Derek Robinson's "War Story" about an FE2 squadron and popped on to see if there was any Wings of Glory versions.. and I see these! Very inspirational - thanks for posting!

I saw a picture on the web somewhere of a rebuilt Dh2 with this, so I figured as the Fee used the same wing top and bottom also, it would make it easy to distinguish when I get another one!!

    A very neat touch John.
You are starting to build up quite an Armada.
We usually have a game at Musters on the Saturday afternoon or evening if it is a long weekend one, so you must pop over sometime and have a game.

    Thanks, I hadn't noticed!!!
I shall get the brass rod out when I get home and remedy that.

    Don't worry too much John.
If you look at mine it is missing the outer struts.
That's the way they came in the early days of Red Eagle.
Now I make my own struts.

As the crew are moulded in, I cannot fit a second Lewis gun, so this shall be a bomber variant

Now that my Gunbus's and Be2s are being shot down at a rate of knots, it's time to introduce some faster aircraft to the flight.

for those that are interested, the gunner is a reduced aircraft factory lewis gunner (FUD) first type, with .51mm wire legs and a milliput coat

Which brings me to the subject of ink washes Ian. Where do you source yours? i used Citadel for years, but there current washes seem to leave a residue of small spots of the pigment on the surface of the model. I am therefore, reluctant to use them any more.

I use Army Painter soft tone. I've found it the best replacement since GW stopped producing Devlan Mud.

They do two brown washes, soft tone for light brown and strong tone for dark, both come I handy.

    Busy busy busy!

My 1st of two Shapeways UFD RAF F.E.2.

I was very impressed with the quality of this model, very little preparation needed, just a soak in warm soapy water then a bit of going over with a soft toothbrush, rinse, dry and then 2 coats of primer. I didn't find the model more delicate or brittle than other small scale model kits such as Valom kits.

Really sharp looking aircraft there James. I like the FUD products quite a bit. The struts and under carriage seem to be a bit thicker on the FUD models I have, than the models in WSF but I kind of like that. Always enjoy seeing your work.

James, I don't see a prop on your 2nd Fee,(nice!) did you not get one? Not nit picking, I got two Shapeways a while back with no props. I emailed them about it and they sent me two more planes. One was great with prop, the 2nd again had missing prop and most of the tail piece missing! I will convert that into a wreck someday.
