From what few bits of color info available this one could be Jurt Student or Oswald Bolcke once I make the id#s for it.

Tim goes into much more work than I do. I don't drill holes anymore, I just cut to length and superglue.

    So do I, now!

In fact these E.IIIs were the first and last to get the drill treatment.
If you look closely, the starboard wings have 'threaded' cables, the port wings have 'cut-to-length' cables glued to the drill hole apertures.

I was wondering if you had a better understanding of this method than I. I first tried it on a pair of Moraine P types with wire and did not like the effort involved or the result. Now I just mark where the cable will be on the wings, cut the brush hair to length and glue. I guess here the easier way is the best.

Understood, but I wasn't sure if it warranted a new thread or just an addition to the titles existing EI and EIII & EIV threads. After all, it is mostly an EIII model.

Great work all! Rigging is best left to the experts! That said, does anyone here have custom E.III or E.IV for sale... or willingness to take on a small commission?

    Default Fokker E.IV

Two Guns are better than one so I added this to the arsenal:

As a one piece model it was very quick to paints & finish. Firstly well soaked with Kleer polish

Thanks chaps - might be a bit late for this campaign though a late appearance might happen.

Very clean and crisp paint job! Great model, too (RAF I think?). That's the way I like it!

Today arrived my matt varnish supply. I hope it looks as Matt as your result afterwards.

Yes indeed, very nice and crisp paintwork Dave. Chris will certainly applaud your sentiments about the extra gun.

Very nice model, you can never have too many guns. I like the symmetry of twin guns, much more aesthetically pleasing....

I think they should be offset - one in the centre, one to the the right (or was it left?) - to be accurate but you're right it does look nice as it is.

That was just on the first two (or possibly three) machines, the left gun being removed - all the other 40 or so were designed with symmetrical twin guns.

Not so taxing on the eyesight as Valom, and just a paint job required once sealed and primed.

But still very nicely done, Barrie.

Something else I have just noticed too. I use Micro-Sol on the transfers after drying. This is the second time but it seems to react with the White acrylic paint causing it to turn a light grey. Anyone else notice this. It has literally turned my Goring dvii grey rather than white?

I've never seen this, but then I always "seal" all paint surfaces with gloss varnish before applying decals, so the 'Microsol' and 'Microset' can't get at the paintwork.
