Hello!
After the thread of bigk57 on the new ray F4U corsair, i decided to buy it.
I think the plane worth to be add to DoW so i start this little project to provide everything you need for this plane ^^
Plane Review
Name: F4U Corsair
Manufacturer : New Ray
Scale : 1/190
The plane come with a plastic glass around it.
So if you the scale does not suit you, its still a nice decoration :P
Their two screw on the base.
First screw...
Second screw :P
You can see that the base was assembled before the paint was dry...
Removing the base will remove some of the paint job...
The paint job not always very good.
As you can see on this picture the orange is not straight and the front of the plane was not very well glued. The plane still look good.
The 1/190 scale is ok but not perfect...
The plane still look big when you look at it near a messerschmitt BF109.
I found out that a matchlock is just the perfect way to assemble the plane to an official base xD
You don't need glue or anything, you just have to put it into the hole.
The matchlock fit very well in the peg.
Now our F4U can fly !
The F4U with a team of Grumman.
And the japaness attack ! :P
Pilot : Pappy Boyington
Boyington, a 1934 graduate of the University of Washington, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1936 and became a pilot. He resigned from the Marines to join General…
Stories of Pappy Boyington are legend, many founded in fact, including how he led the legendary Black Sheep squadron, and how he served in China as a member of the American Volunteer Group, the famed Flying Tigers. He spent a year and a half as a Japanese POW, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor, was recognized as the Marine Corps top ace. Always hard-drinking and hard-living, Pappy's post-war life was as turbulent as his wartime experiences.
Card
Edit : Max Headroom made a card specialy for that plane and pilot.
