Nice paint job Thomas
Well done, it looks great
Thank you, but I'd love to see some more repaints though. That french P-40 just ask for a repaint .
Here's my desert Kittyhawk
Ever since getting the Free French P-40 in the Wings of Glory starter set, I have wanted to repaint it as a Soviet lend lease P-40. I was inspired to do this based on the origin of the Virginia Military Aviation Museum's P-40. See my profile picture, it is the plane I am standing next to. Thanks to Richard Schwab, I learned that the plane was originally recovered north of the Arctic Circle, shown here: http://www.warbirdrestoration.co.nz/past.html#yagen .
I ordered decals from AIM and hand painted the rest, based on a painting shown here: http://warandgame.files.wordpress.co...40inusssr2.jpg . I strive to make my models table ready, and I am quite pleased with the results.
I now have three Soviet planes ready for eastern front scenarios.
She is a beauty Steve. Very excellently painted.
Rob.
You have made a nice job of that too Dave. Great to see a more unusual subject too.
Rob.
Here's a couple of flights of Australian P-40's for the showcase, I've put up posts under Metal and Resin models here:

Just superb Carl.
I keep having to remind myself that these are a smaller scale even than the ones that I paint.
Rob.
Thats a pretty darn good effort of hand painting Rondels!
Hi Chaps!
Thought I would add my USAF Warhawk to RAAF Kittyhawk conversion to the official P-40 thread.
I have already posted the pics in the Hobby Room section so apologies if you have already seen it.
Simple but effective conversion!

Here's a few P40s from my collection. All are Minicraft or AHM kits. The first three birds are from the 7th Fighter Squadron of the 49th Fighter Group
These next two birds come from the 8th Fighter Squadron of the 49th Fighter Group
All of the lettering, national insignias, and the checker board on Squirlbate's tail are decals. The nose insignias are painted on freehand.
Lloyd, those P-40's look great. Are they 1/200 scale?
Thanks for the kind words. They are 1/144 plastic kits.
Well worth a bit of cudos Lloyd.
Rob.
Very crisply produced Robert.
A credit to any Squadron.
Rob.
Some time back, these were the only 1/144 scale P-40Cs I could find. The kits were the crudest kits I've ever built in my entire life, no fooling. The props had so much flash on them, the part looked like a solid disk. It took me an entire day to cut out the two props alone. Kami De Kokoru, or something like that, was the garage company that made them. I saw them on HLJ, and after paying about $20 USD each, including shipping, for them, I was determined not to give up on them, and at least finish them.
These are P-40Ns again, ancient Arii molds, and I wasn't too happy with how they turned out. This was my second, and last; attempt at making my own decales, the Skull Heads. The models were terrible but not so expensive, but seeing as how I already owned them, I determined to see them through as well.
F-Toys came out recently with a super P-40E, and I wound up buying 6 pairs of those, which I just love. This is a painting thread, and seeing as how I didn't do any painting on those F-Toys P-40Es, I figure they don't belong here. I did "Home decale" on 2 pairs of those though!
But here are my second set of Arii P-40Ns. I was going for 80th Fighter Group out of Assam Valley, India.
These are my AIM 1/200 Japanese P-40's.
The P-40 is one of my favorite planes and the AIM model is beautiful.
I've wanted to do these since the first time I saw pictures of Japanese captured P-40's.
I hope that after the matt varnish spray the plastic look of the decals will disappear.
One more view of the red and green effect.

I was not aware that the Japs flew captured Warhawks Quim, so these come as a pleasant surprise to me.
Must get mine finished off too.

They did. And guess what pilot will fly the fanged one?
See here, my friend:

You must let me see yours. I will also buy 4 more in the future to paint them as UK desert fighters.
Very interesting Quim.
I look forward to seeing him in action in it.

Very impressive Andy.
It makes the pair I'm failing to finish off very pedestrian indeed.

Nice Med P-40s. Very nice. Airbrushed?
Super Kittyhawks, wingman!
I may have to look in to investing in an airbrush and start working on my skills. Your results are inspirational.
Superb Andy!
REP of course.
Very nice P-40s all. Great new planes added to the thread Andy.
Andrzej, your P-40s look great. I like the added touch of spraypainting the ball bearing blue to match the underside of the plane.
Well done Andy! These guys are terrific!
I would die for one of these:
