Yes, the red and silver is eye grabbing. Nice!
Always a good colour scheme. Th colour complements the white and vis a viz.

Super Pfalz, Eric!

My compliments Eric, that is a sharp looking kite. I hope it will feature in an after action report one day soon, I would love to see it on a table.
I'm especially admiring the detail on the pilot, radiator, and propeller!
Sweet Jasta 30 Pfalz's. I've been wanting to do some of these for a year after I got the Aeronauts book on the J30. Have to love Marwitz' wine red planes.
Very nice Pfalz's Darell!
Are those 'Peter Pig' pilots?
And, if so, how did you get the Nexus plastic "blob" pilot out? I'm having a devil of a job removing one from my Bruno Stachel Pfalz!

Another Von Marwitz, wonderful! I like the Jasta 10 yellow nose too. Ok, have to bump my Pfalz flight up the list.
Tim, I've never even tried to remove the original pilot blobs. I bow to your determination. Are they metal like the fuselage?
The blob is plastic . I fully dissemble the model , strip all paint, reassemble prime and paint. Yes Peter Pig
Gorgeous stuff, Brian and Darrell! Those darn orange diamond Pfalz planes are quite spectacular! Keep 'em coming!
All the best,
Matt
One of my early "Repaints" of a Pfalz D.III from the original Nexus/Fantasy Flight release. I wanted to do Stachel's Pfalz so I could recreate various scenarios from the Blue Max movie. These Pictures were taken not long after I did it back in 2009'ish
Side (I apologize for the poor photo quality.)

I will have to upload some more current and better pictures of it at some point.
this is the set up for "Stachel's first mission" scenario. Stachel's Pfalz D.III and a Fokker D.VII as escort going after a Balloon. Facing Two RAF Se.5a's.
Table set up
I do not know if this paint scheme is from an actual Pilot or if it was a custom one done for computer game or what. But I found the original image online when I was looking for Pfalz D.III paint themes, and when I saw this one, I instantly fell in love with it and decided to try and reproduce it as best I could.
The Mini is from Nexus/Fantasyflight original WoW, and repainted.
I used decals from Red Eagle for the crosses but hand painted the heart and everything else.
Nice card Mike!I have a spare D111 available, now need to decide which version to do
Ezekiel and Mike - lovely work both of you
Daniel,
I went looking for info on Stachel's plane. Besides being completely fictional, I found this:
The colors of the lozenge camo don't match yours.
Oh. And I found this:
Not a Pfalz D.III, and not my work. Nice card, but the back is WWS WWII.

PS: I like the compass outline under the plane on the plane card side. Kind of cool.

I agree - that compass is kinda cool...
Just left my workbench................
Leutnant Bruno Stachel's "out of date Pfalz" from 'The Blue Max'
Jasta "Heidemann" (Jasta 11) spring 1918
Nexus 'Klein' Pfalz D.III, with mehusla (1/144 Direct) whole body decals "Harvest"
Eisnerkreuz decals by Dom's Decals
This poor plane has sat on my Workbench for 3 years!
I noticed it in the background on some 'Jasta/Flik' photos I reviewed recently, and decided to bite the bullet and finish it.
Hope you like it.

Amazing, Tim.
I think I'd go cross-eyed trying to put that all together!
I don't think I have ever seen a full on lozenge camo before.

Great job! Decals on a flat surface is one thing; making it look good on round surfaces, working around struts, etc.--- that takes an artist.
We all have to raise our hats to that one Tim.

"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
Tim, incredible. It must have taken longer to decal that on than to paint a whole plane! Bravo!
That's an excellent job Tim, presumably you removed the top wing to make it a bit more accessible for the decaling.
Fantastic decaling. That is some tricky application.
Here's to them what are like us. Damn few and they're all dead.
I'm speechless!
And can't rep you either

I cut the heads off with wire cutters, then use a Dremel with a small grinding attachment to take the body down to 2 or 3mm below the cockpit fairing. Then cut a Peter Pig pilot head and shoulders off and glue to the ‘stump’ of the original pilot. It’s a faff but better than leaving the original garden gnome to fly the plane.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Great job Tim! Kudos!

Beautiful work, as always, Ezekiel. Love the horse (cheval?) rampant.
Nice Pfalz, Ezekiel!

Great Pfalz, Ezekiel

Tim's camo was very similar to my Hansa Brandenburg one.

Hats off to all of the above. Yep, I agree about Tim's camo. That is stunning work
Glad you chaps like my "Stachel"
Yes, I did remove the top wing (and the undercarriage) to allow easier access for painting and decalling.
I fought shy of getting on with this plane for nearly 3 years, worried that the decalling task would be beyond me.
As it was, it went much more smoothly than I had feared.
Thanks for the kind comments, and for the Rep!
