One more wingman for Tutschek in Jasta 12, Ltn Paul Billik. Shapeways model, Paint same as from post 494 above. Decals from my mixed collection. I had to order a WW2 1/200 Ju188 decal set from Kevin (Miscmini) for the right size swastika.

Now for Jasta Boelcke. Ltn. Gerhard Bassenge. Shapeways model. Aviation Wings decals, paint - wingtops - Craftsmart olive green CS168. Anita's Khaki Green 11117, brown mix 2 parts each of Craftsmart brown CS147, Anita's rust red 11025 and AK Interactive WWI German red brown. wing bottoms Americana Winter Blue DA190. Spinning prop from old Aerodrome store.

The AW decals are very good but the fuselage wrap around didn't take into account the tapered fuselage. A little fudgine and paint took care of that.

Werner Voss while in Jasta Boelcke. Shapeways model. Sram decals, paint - wingtops - Craftsmart olive green CS168. Anita's Khaki Green 11117, brown mix 2 parts each of Craftsmart brown CS147, Anita's rust red 11025 and AK Interactive WWI German red brown. wing bottoms Americana Winter Blue DA190. Spinning prop from old Aerodrome store.

The 'old' Sram wreath decals discintegrated so I had to paint them. That took more time than I wanted! Thank goodness the hearts held together.

On Voss and a couple others I used a fine black line decal from Miscmini instead of painting the rudder and elevator gap. Made the painting job a bit easier!

    Thanks all.

Dan, Bassenge and Prien were Aviation Wings decals. I did have to paint over them though as they were fragile and broke in a few places. Bassenge, as stated, the fuselage wrap didn't work so I had to paint that part on the turtle deck and the fuselage bottom.
Voss was a very old Sram decal set. The wreaths fell apart so I was very very careful with the hearts and they survived.

WoW Peter. Superb. Do you ever stop I'm guessing that, in any one year, between you and Tim you paint more Albatros scouts than the rest of us put together

When I decided to do some D.IIIs I figured since I use a wash for the wooden fuselage I better do a bunch so I could have time for the first to dry when I got to the last. I think I'm still a second class Albatros airforce compared to Tim!

Those D.III are top notch Peter. Sadly Rep guns are jammed but I'll circle back as your work is superb.

All paints Vallejo except where noted.

    Tyres - Black 70.950
