Lovely Job. I never built anything in 1/144 scale, but I have considered some Skytrex minis,
    Please tell me

How do you convert these to decals?
    Please tell me the secret.

Hi, F. O. Kyte, Nice job on the Nieuport 17, Can I ask what do you use for the 'flying peg'? Right now and for a while, I'll have mostly metal, I am just about to the point to drill the hole in my first kit but need to know what size.

I turn my own pegs from acrylic on my lathe, but a lot of the chaps use wood for them.
You can set up in an electric drill held in a vice and sand them down or use a dremel in much the same way.

One of the best models in their range I think, and you've done a great job putting it together. Finished as Rene Dorme's crate isn't it ? Got a quartet of Skytrex "Storks" myself.

Yes you are right of course Iain. Dorme it is.
I felt I needed to boost my French Flight a bit ready to accompany my Caproni when it arrives.
I agree with you about the Skytrex kit. It was a real pleasure to build and had very little flash on it.

Hi F.O. Kyte, I have the same idea about a Caproni, changing the decals to French. Had just read that the French used a few Caproni's. I didn't want to start on Ital. aero-planes just yet, just because I wanted a Caproni. Neat looking bomber, I don't know yet how well they'll be in battle. But I'm anxious to find out.

Hi goban, Was checking out F.O. Kyte's Skytrex Nieuport 17 build and then seen your post, you never built anything in 1/144. I have built a lot of WWII in 1/144.
Right now I'm letting some filler putty dry on a Skytrex SE5a. I bought 4 planes on ebay last week and 3 from Reviresco. I won't be buying anymore Skytrex, lots of wrongs. Right side wing struts misaligned, no decal for tail/rudder, no FF Vickers M.G., made one, pilot already in cockpit, you have to paint it with plane built, I like to add it after painted and plane built. No detail on the underside at all. The only thing I like about it is the nice little box they come in! Was checking out a Reviresco Pfalz D-III for my next build. Looks like a Great kit. Nothing missing, you have to buy the decals separate for $3.00 and on a lot of their planes theres a choice of decals. Theres under wind ribs, full bodied pilot, big selection, 20 Allies and 23 German, most kits are $8.00,a
few $10, and 2- $15. I'm pretty sure, I'll only be buying from Reviresco. No big bombers except a AEG-G4 and a Friedrichshafen G-III, their the 2- $15 planes. I will be buying 2 Handley Page's from Shapeways, but thats it from them, have heard a lot of bad stories about them. And you must know we can get Gotha's and Capproni's from WOG. My first build was a Breguet 14b2, like the plane but was from Mamoli, another I don't recommend. If you want a Zeppelin, like I do, the only man to see is Clipper1801, plus he make's awesome aeroplanes, in case you don't know of him. Plus,I like the building part of the hobby.
I just wanted to let you know this stuff! By the way, F.O.Kyte's Nieuport looks Great, Skytrex can come out nice, but I think they need a little extra TLC.
