Thread: Sopwith Dolphins surface!

    Default Sopwith Dolphins surface!

In honor of SuperHandley's new arrival I pushed the Dolphin build ahead in the paint line.

The serial number is his birth date and the "M" is for his first name, I tend to be a bit sentimental. I am sharing this for a neat idea for those who want to celebrate likewise, meanwhile here's a few photos and notes:

    Brown/green upper surfaces

    Linen lower surfaces

Used the colors off the site to do my colors

Used the new Shapeways guns for the upper wing armaments-they are way cool by the way

Now for the other two . . .

After a few minutes, these others surfaced with a friend

Now I have a few spares!

Meet the other vowels A and E

Now I just have to wait a few years to fly them : (

    Thumbs up

    Very neat, Clipper.
I had my Dolphin almost ready for Decaling when I finally got my N17 with 2 days to go & dropped everything to try & get it suitable for the Comp. Bent landing gear, Knitted top of wings & tail, wood grain finish to lower wing surfaces etc & that was one of the better ones Zoe got.

Anyway with that now over, back to the Dolphin but I need some Colinwe's Lewis guns however they can always be added later.

I am very impressed with the look of your Dolphs as usual David. It is nice to see the Shapeway guns in place as this is the way I have decided to go with mine.
