Default Nieuport 17 of 73a Squadriglia / Sergente Nicolo Pelocchi

This was my contest entry, originally a Lufbery/Thenault, and surprisingly the sole Italian Nieuport in the contest. I apologize for the quality of the pictures as I only have the camera in my mobile phone and that one sucks big time.

Can anyone identify where did I get the fictional pilot's name?

I liked the color scheme, but unfortunately the mobile phone pics didn't do the model enough justice. Its still a great entry, and I am surprised there weren't more Italian planes entered.

I really liked this one. You actually scored the most votes from the poll I took in my classes, 49 votes. I did an Italian one as well but I didn't enter it. I really love the the color scheme. Great job!

Thank you. I am glad your students liked my entry. It is a shame that I was not able to get any better pictures.

    Great Italian job!

I liked this one enough to see past the somewhat blurry pics. Wonderful stuff!

I love the colours. It's sad that you couldn't take better pictures, Jan!

    That's right.

Next birthday or christmas you definetely need a digatal camera!

Mine was about 79€ with 12 MB picture quality.

    ...but back to your model:

A nice Italian Nieuport. I like the national colours on the lower side of the wings.

    Well done, Jan.

    It's Pinocchio.

Thank you for the comments and for the reputation.

And, no, Sven, it is not Pinocchio.

Yep, this was another great looking entry. Had you had better photos of it, the contest outcome could have been quite different!
