Why is this pic making me think "Armored Vehicle Rallycross"?

Checked the BLOG and those are great photos. I think the two M113's with turrets were used by the Australians only. Have only seen pics in books of them but now a real photo of them.
Part 2 of my Australian Armour and Artillery Museum blog has been published here - http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/ent...airns-(Part-2)
Artillery in the spotlight for this one.

That 88 seat wasn't exactly built for comfort..:(
and no seat belt when the gun fired..how did the guy stay on that seat?
probably beats the hell out of the roller coaster at the fun park!
super pics
lucky you!:envy:
I think I would like to take a ride in ALL of those beasties, Carl!:sAprvd: Spoiled for choice, definitely - which one(s) did you and your mate pick?
All the best,
Matt
Part Three of my Ausarmourfest 2017 blog is up now - http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/ent...airns-(Part-3)
More WW2 armoured fighting vehicles than you can comfortably examine in eight hours!

Beautiful pictures, Carl! This is definitely a world-class museum:sAprvd: The WW2 section has some real treasures - great to see the Matilda and Valentine, and the Tiger turret top is a cool point of display...
Looking forward to Round 4.
All the best,
Matt
That's a cracking museum Carl, thanks for posting the pics.
WOW great photos. Some of those I have only seen pictures of in books so it is great to see them up close.

On many of their vehicles the hatches are open so you can view the crew compartments, which for the most part are in pristine condition.
As an example these photos are of the interior of the M3 Grant tank .....

..... with the turret interior and breach of the 37mm gun .....

..... and a view of the driver's seat and breach of the sponson mounted 75mm.
Like I said I took ALOT of photos but I would probably crash Keith's servers if I uploaded them ALL
Mine also has their hatch open on the Grant. When you look inside you wonder how they did what they did in such cramped spaces. Here is Stuart side view and inside shot.

I hope you have enjoyed these pictorial tours. For any Australian (or international) members with an interest in military history this museum is an absolute must-see venue. I have already organised a return trip next year with a large group from Brisbane. Given the AAAM is expanding it's collection next year to include a Sherman Firefly, a Cromwell, two models of Panzer IV and a Panther Ausf A as well as adding an entire new 3200 square metre wing I think there will be plenty more to see!
Great blog Carl. 'Tanks' for all the pics.
Great pics again, noticed the change in headgear Carl, or is it Karl now... ;)
Great pictures of 'Riding in Tanks':sAprvd: - it looks like you and Ash had a marvelous time. Those tanks slated for inclusion for the expansion will be wonderful.
Thanks again for setting up the blog and sharing all of these photos.
All the best,
Matt
Great photo and descriptions. Must have been fun to be able to ride in those vehicles.
 Many thanks (& Rep) for all the wonderful photos & info Carl!:sAprvd:
Thanks for the feedback gentlemen, I am glad you enjoyed the photographic tour.

Would love to get up close and personal with those.
I would definitely have wanted to try out the Stuart.
Thanks again for posting, Karl *

Rep gun is unfortunately jammed at this time.
Have some Virtual Rep
My tank visit is next weekend. Different tanks for the great ones you have but still some good tanks.
There is a place in Nokesville VA that has a show. The pictures I have posted are from there. They run some around a track and it is good to see them run. They also have a Marine demo team that shows how a squad would attack a bunker. The flame thrower is actually from WWII, but getting old.
