Next Saturday would have been his 84th birthday.

The family is reading this forum, it's visible to the public, and everyone's condolences, fond memories, and kindness has been of great support to them in theit time of grief. Baz was always infectiously cheerful, and knowing that he lives on in hearts and memories of so many around the world is making a difference to them. Thank you all.
Now I'm going to have another mug of Earl Grey, toasting Barry and his family.
What a shock! I can't imagine this Forum without Gully_Raker. He was a prolific poster of threads, especially aircraft pictures in this section. He always responded so warmly to others' threads. RIP.
Condolences to his family and close friends who will miss him most.
Every time I re-read this thread I'm just completely blown away. the amount of effort he put into his contributions to the forum are just irreplaceable.
Condolences
Sorry to read this news. Thanks for the post, Zoe. I usually drink coffee, but Ima go have a brew-up now.
Just seen this, what incredibly sad news, had a number of conversations with Baz here, he was one of the first I spoke to when joining , loved his pics and his friendly banter, he always sent me a happy birthday wish.
So sorry and saddened, my most sincere condolences to his family and friends down under and elsewhere. Blue skies and a good flight mate. :salute:
Blown away by this news :( Baz has been a mainstay of pretty much everything I have shared with the rest of you since I signed up, especially the OTT campaign run by Dave. All those AARs and the amazing photos he shared with us too and always some lovely feedback for anything posted by us. Seemed like a close friend and that's the second one I've lost this week :(
My sincere condolences to his family and friends and here's the largest cup of tea I can find to drink to his memory. I think I might just find something a bit stronger too, later this evening.
Chau Baz - sorry to lose you mate. :( :salute:
Such sad news, I think the posts above have voiced a most touching and heartfelt obituary for a truly great man. I can add no more.
My condolences to his family
:salute:
Barry's daughter, Jenny Woodcroft, asked me to thank everyone for their condolences and sympathies. Those non tea drinkers who went out and bought some are particularly appreciated, it's the kind of funny and thoughtful act Barry appreciated.
Barry talked about you often to her and her family, so she knows most of you by reputation as good friends.
Due to the current outbreak in NSW, state borders have slammed shut, so Barry's family will not be able to attend a memorial service any time soon. So it has been decided to delay the celebration of Barry's life for at least 2 months, with a private cremation before then. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for the update Zoe. You might like to have a look at the tributes on the Over the Trenches Solo missions forum.

I spent yesterday afternoon with a tear in my eye re reading all Baz's missions.
Rob.
I've just learned of this terrible news :dazed: Baz was not only a great forum member, he was a great friend and will be sorely missed by many of us around the globe. Not only will I toast a tea to him, I have decided to name my tractor after him (even though he would think it was way to modern!). My thoughts go out to his "real life" friends and family during this sad time.
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, – and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of – wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air…
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew –
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
Just heard obout this and am sorry to hear this. He will be remembered by all of us.
I rembember sending him a Yuengling tee shirt with a F4F Corsair on it. He thanked me and wore it to game nights. Never did meet him but consider him a friend as I do to all in here. RIP my friend.
Oh my, I am so very sorry to read this. He was such a valued member of this site. My deepest sympathies to his family.
Bill
Noooooooooooo.
So sad to hear. Never met Barry, but had hoped to. My condolences to his family, he will be missed.
That's unbelievably bad and sad news, my sincerest condolences to his family and friends. He was always so full of life and enthusiasm in the OTT sub forum that I frequent, it's a sorry day for us all.
It's hard to believe that I won't be reading one of his AAR's ever again.
Just so sad.
Zoe thanks for posting the news, I've not been on the forum for a little while and only just seen this.:(
Pass on my condolences, broke out my big brew mug especially for the tribute.
RIP Barry, I drink to you tonight.
Would it be possible for somebody on the "committee" (assuming there is one) to update the "Hall of Fallen Airmen". Since Barry was himself its moderator, this has not yet been done.
Baz usually posted well after the event, Mike, once he had received a eulogy from someone who knew them.
I'm happy to take it on if given the access and someone like Zoe can put some words together.
I have been liaising with Rob and believe Zoe is going to do the honours.
I spoke to Keith just after he posted, and we asked Zoe, who is collecting information from his family.
Rob.
Cheers guys. Good to know all is in hand. I should never have doubted it :) Thank you all.
Having one for Gully_raker this morning. RIP

my condolences. rip barry.
I'm working on it, should have it ready by the weekend.
I came across this about our wingman Gully_raker this morning & flagged it up in the OTT Mess but I think others who knew him will appreciate it too.

Very nice article, Dave, I read it with pleasure. Just another proof WoG are extraordinary people even outside the (boardgame) box.
This link should be a part of his Hall of Fallen Airman tombstone.
Lovely piece that, thank you for finding and sharing. What a top bloke.
Sorry to hear. God has another GREAT copilot.
NSW is still under a gradually easing lockdown. I'm waiting to hear again from the family.
Thank you Zoe.
Rob.
I just do not know how I managed to miss this devastating news.
Fly High Barry. RIP.:salute::salute::salute:
