Chris I posted a YOU TUBE video about the RTAF museum. Its in the Officer Club section. It will give you an idea of what they had. When they fought the French in late 1940 their AF was actually better then the French. The Thais had 24 H75's and the French had only 9 Ms 406's. In 1940 the Thais had Sally,s and Ann's. Later they had Nate's and Oscar's. I still have the Sally's and Nate's to paint.
I have used Folk Art on other projects, Daniel, and I find it a bit thick - I think if I were going to use it on small planes, I would thin it a bit with water - maybe two parts paint and one part water...
Nate, the griffons are for D&D - I am using them for a scenario with WWI planes - late war. I will post the rules in the files section once I finish them. I have played two play-test sessions, and they work pretty well. The griffons have no ranged combat - they must close and melee...;)
Beautiful work, Bob, on your SE Asian planes - WW2 and more modern. They would go nicely with Dave's Thud and F-86...:sAprvd:
All the best,
Matt
Haven't painted the 105's yet. Awhile ago I mentioned to Kevin that all his Viet Nam US decals were for Navy planes. Last month I get an email that he did some USAF ones. Now I have to get 3 mort F-4's for the 433r TFS. That's the squadron Robin Olds commanded and did operation BOLO.
Attachment 267761
These are the F4's I did but for another unit. Got the decals before Kevin did his.
thanks!
theyre a mix of "the great war; tank expansion" and "flames of war" minis. i got them because ive always wanted some ww1 tanks (though i originally wanted 1/35 scale) and to use in a "savage worlds; weird war one" rollplaying campaign (think ww1 meets zombies and dragons).
finished up the french tanks and us and canadian ft17sAttachment 267762Attachment 267763Attachment 267764
Matt,
Great paint jobs! Thanks for the top-down image, too.

[Edit: Fixed Damage Deck]
If you'd rather this card be in Ares format, that can be done.
Wow, Mike - that is spectacular! The design is just fine the way it is:sAprvd: Could I request that you change the Damage from B deck to A deck, though? I have the griffons rated as A damage, especially as they have to close to melee to inflict damage...
You are a marvel:)
All the best,
Matt
No names - a generic card will be just what the Kaiser ordered...:sAprvd:;)
Thanks again for such wonderful accessories!
All the best,
Matt
Hmmm... I couldn't find a card for this on the Forum. For any Ki-30, actually. Anyone else know of one?

[Edited: Now showing "10" rather than "Ten"]
The script on the card back is supposed to be the Thai numerals for "10". I guess they don't use 1 and 0 to make the number as we do. Things you learn doing cards...

Greetings Daniel. Sorry to see the paint go bad! I used to use all the range of such paints and had this happen once. Some of the craft paints are acrylic and some are an acrylic enamel which over time tend to gel and thicken. Thinning them out with water can help, but if two paints mix wet or nearly dry they can have such a reaction. I soaked the model in hot soapy water, removed the paint and started over with a new bottle of paint. Since those days I have settled on Valaro (sp) paints and they have been a delightful change and are now available at Hobby Lobby stores in the model department. Carry on! What scale is the Spitfire? Looks cool.
Mike that is fantastic. Wasn't expecting that. I will ask the wife what number that is but I know it isn't 10. When she get back I will have her look. Yes they used Thai writing for their numbers on the planes.
Attachment 267837
Here is a clearer photo of the planes. The middle one is # 11. The first squiggles are #1 in Thai.
OK Mike. The wife just came home and told me the difference. What I have on the plane is 11, Thai numbers. What you have on the card is the word TEN (SIP) in Thai. So it would be like having the planes number 10 rather then Ten.

Mike you didn't have to go through all that trouble but much appreciated. BTW the wife is Thai and had to explain that to me. I didn't realize the difference.
tNot planes or ships, but with the nice weather, and being on vacation, I took the opportunity to get started on repairing the front garden.
I found out that:
I'm not young anymore;
My car is not a utility truck nor SUV, and does not like cinder blocks! (no damage though)
I would have gotten the rest of the second course done, but my luck with caulking guns holds true, and I blew through the back of the
adhesive tube with more than a third left in it

Then we look at the garden around the foundations, and start relaying the paths and hard standing.
Fancy a holiday over here in say July Karl. :D:takecover:
Rob.
Good to see the 1:1 modelling going on here, Karl and Rob!:sAprvd: My SWMBO would approve...;) - my 'Honey-Do' list always has some 1:1 scale activities...
Keep up the good work!
All the best,
Matt
The strange thing is: since Rob dug that trench nobody has seen Mrs Kyte.......;)
What a great project, Rob! It will really make your winter seasons cosy!

The magnifiers have arrived! Much prefer this open style to the more hooded one I had years ago. Something this small, I just used a hand brush, but for the base coat, I think I could have justified getting out the air brush. Takes a lot of white paint to lighten the already fairly light blue I had (Liquitex Brilliant Blue). The paint looks darker in the photo then it does actually sitting in front of me (iPad). Did like the visible beams from the magnifier light. Gonna watch the Indy qualifying then back for the orange.
Edit in: And the bottom three qualifiers are done (Fernando was eliminated!), and now the top nine, but got the orange on....and since the original drawing isn’t coming through, let’s swap out the photo I just used for the reference look...

Cards in the Post-WWII section for F-86s and Mig-15s: Scale for Post-WWII - Post #25
The only cards done for this section have been Korean War, so far as I know. No missiles was the consensus last I looked, so not yet doing Vietnam War planes.
