When the Missus said she wanted to see the Northern Lights I thought she meant Blackpool but sadly not, so we are off to Iceland (and not to do the week's shopping, before anyone suggests it) tomorrow for 6 days. Iceland - a country devoid of McDonalds (hooray!) and aviation museums (boo!) and stupid drinks prices (BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!). I think it's karma for all the military museums I've dragged her round this year.

At least there are some Viking history resources to have a look at...

Rekyjavik is a neat place. If you are up for it, go to the top of the Church of Eric the Red. Do be careful not to be at the top on the hour. (unless you have good ear plugs!)

Enjoy your visit Steve and watch out for volcanic outbursts. No not from Mrs Guntruck, from Mountains like Heckla.
It gave a fine volcanic display when our sixth form were there on a Field Trip some years ago.
