It gives more minus' to the dice roll therefore hastening a sticky end or out of action for good but alive.

 Great postscript to Rob's Action Report Neil.;)
PO Zindorf was already starting a banking roll to his left when the canon shells ripped through his tail section. Gazing back he knew the tail was gone. The Martlet went into a flat spin. Sven knew he had seconds to get out before the weight of the nose turned the flat spin into a deadly nose spin. A spin he knew he could not bail out from. He rattled off a quick ' Bailing out now...', slid the canopy back, stood up and as the nose went down executed a near perfect forward roll out of the aircraft. Waiting until his aircraft had spun past him he fell a while before pulling the toggle to deploy his chute. SNAP. He looked up checked the canopy was ok and observed the fight above and off to his left. He saw the Sqn Leader down the Hun 110 and gave chase whilst the second headed for home. Sven was glad to see the Co's plane coming back. He circled until a small black speck in the distance grew larger and the Sunderland Flying Boat landed next to him. It wasn't long before the was on board and having a cup of tea generously laced with rum. He assisted the crew as the Sunderland taxied across and picked up the two German crew of the downed 110. Sqn Leader Lisbon gave the pilot of the Sunderland a thumbs up and told him over the RT 'I'll escort you back. Once your safe I'll head off'. The Sunderland skipper answered 'Roger. Your chick and two hawks safely on board'. 'Roger, WILCO, OUT' He replied.

Great postscript once again, Neil. I'm glad PO Zindorf is okay.
Another good outcome for the R.A,F.
Well done.
Kyte.
PO Daniel Prague had never been shot down before. This was a totally new experience for him. To low to bail out he knew he had to put the Martlet down before the flames reached the fuel tank. Glancing round he noticed the italian pilot giving him the thumbs up and indicating that he, Daniel, should put his aircraft down. A quick wave and a thumbs up back Daniel leveled the Martlet and pushed the stick forward. He decided to cut his engine and glide the aircraft down and hopefully land safely on the water. Forgetting the combat up above him Daniel, beads of sweat on his forehead, brought the Martlet down. Trying not to focus his eyes on the waves coming up to meet him he looked in the mid distance so he could gauge his approach. Nearly there he thought, a few more feet and I'm there. Unfortunately fate did not smile on PO Daniel Prague that day. Just as his wing tips were about to touch the water a freak wave caught the Martlet and flipped it over onto its back. PO Daniel Prague was knocked unconscious as the Martlet slowly settled into the water and began it's death dive to the sea below.
PO Daniel Prague: 14 damage / FLM / FT / S (-1)
rolled 1 -1 (sea) = 0 = KIA

Thanks again, Neil.
Aijima kept the Val as level as he could. He was looking for a specific point out at sea. Yes he could just make it out. Now all he had to do was put the stricken plane down and all would be well.Nose up, nose up. Bandō was shouting excitedly that Chishu had managed to shoot down both American fighters. Honour was preserved then, Aijima said to himself but we'll be buying the saki!Slowly he glided the Val towards the target area, nose up, nose up, gently does it. The Val suddenly dropped it's nose and hit the water with a sickening thud. Aijima was thrown forward then the Val dropped back and it's tail slapped into the sea. Popping the canopy he climbed out onto the wing. Looking back he could see the tell tail signs of smoke where the two American fighters had plunged into the sea. Shinichi was waggling his wings as they circled once and then flew off towards home.
"Come on Bandō, don't dally the sub will be surfacing soon and we need to be in the dinghy ready for pick up." There was no reply. Aijima looked back into the cockpit and could see Bandō slumped forward. He reached in to shake him and his head just lolled around like a broken doll. Bandō was dead. His neck broken in the crash. Aijima pullled away from the Val as it slid beneath the waves. A fitting grave for his brave warrior friend. The sub broke surface and within 5 minutes Aijima was on board and it slipped beneath the waves. 2 days later they rendezvoused with Ryuju.

Another fine closure from you Neil.
If you keep this up we will have to consider a pay rise.:money::erk:
Considered it.
Kyte.
Dear Rob, Neil's most definitely deserves a pay raise.
I motion for a pay raise for Neil. All in favor raise your right arm.
Mmm... Dear commander, that's your left hand... the... mmmm... one holding the G&T... if you could just raise the other one... please...
That one's got the bottle in it.
Kyte.
Oh boy... Commander, my dear Commander... If you look carefully you see that the bottle is in my left hand... Just raise you right hand, please...
Charlie Owens couldn't believe his luck. Shooting down 2 Hun's then the bullet into his leg. He felt down and could feel the warm liquid running down his leg. He felt sick and feint, not having any breakfast didn't help matters. Charlie was scrambled before He could get his 'scrambled'. Never mind. Got to get back. He headed over the chanel hoping to make Dover and a soft landing before he passed out. He pushed the Hurricane to its limit. The pain in his leg was unbearable now. God I'm not going to make it, he thought. 'Pull yourself together man, you are going to make it', he said to no one in particular. Then he could make out the feint smudge of the white cliffs of Dover. His leg was burning now and he knew he didn't have long left before the pain made him black out.
He willed himself to concentrate as he screamed over the cliffs at low level. Seeing an airfield he put his wheels down and landed cross wind, nearly hitting a plane taking off. His Hurricane hit the ground with a sickening thud, bounced into the air and hit the ground a few times. Each time agonizing bolts of pain shot up his leg. Finally the Hurricane came to a stop. He didn't have the strength to pull open the canopy.
Suddenly the canopy was wrenched open and strong arms lifted him out and got him onto a stretcher. He heard "Ok, let me look at him first that leg looks bad it might have to come off!". Leg off he thought, what will I do with one leg? "Well of all the, what a ruddy, silly bugger. Sit him up. OK, young man next time you take off don't put a thermos flask in your flying suit leg pocket. Damn fool. Now get him up off that stretcher and tell him to report to the WingCo's office. No doubt he will want a word with him after nearly crashing into him during take off!"

I know the feeling Neil. Seepage from a Gin Bottle is much akin to a thermos wound.
Let's hope that the Wingco of the station is as understanding as I am with my boys.
A very good closure of events as usual.
Kyte.
Ah a well balanced man, a bottle in each hand
:cheezy: You two seriously need help.
So let me help. I will hold both bottles :drinks:
"See you later"!----- as he quickly leaves taking said bottles with him!;)
Oh! No need old chap. The Bar Steward will stick them on my tab.
Kyte.
Oh very well then, here you are Major.
Drat, seems to be out of ink.
Kyte.
Thanks Major.
Oops, sorry broke the nib.
