Nice theory!
Doesn't work with Brandy, I'm afraid.
There is no sign whatsoever of my brain becoming faster and/or more efficient, no matter how many Brandies I consume :(
Perhaps I just need to try a bit harder...............

Considering how long this thread is, I apologize in advance if this has already been posted before, but it fits with the above.
Mental acuity and alcohol are not a best mix.
The Science Behind Beer Goggles
PS: Durham University did this study, so two things pop into my mind. Science doesn't have to be boring. Also, how many UK Forum members may have been part of this study?

Interesting to see this thread still active after nearly two years.
Did anyone ever find out what happened with Chris, who started it?
A longtime forum member, he hasn't posted since December.
I am afraid that I had not noticed Chris' absence. Have you tried sending him a personal message, Pete? He may have set up the system so that notifications of personal messages go to his normal e-mail.
The next centenary special brew from the Mighty Oak brewery featured the Martinsyde Elephant. Originally designed as a long range escort fighters, they found more success as a bomber and they performed valuable service in the Middle Eastern theatre. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martinsyde_G.100

Ok, I have refrained for long enough! You all for years have found cool and enticing brews, which I am impressed and enamored by, BUT I want some of these! I look every time I go shopping, but can I find anything like these? NO WAY! EVEN AN EMPTY BOTTLE would suffice! Oh well, the flying carrot Lyslander is just too cool! Keep up the great work, I will keep searching for the Lancasters, Spits, Lysanders and such. : )
I looked today on the internet, David, and there are many breweries in Arizona but they do not seem to go in for aviation themed beers. The nearest I have found is this from the Thunder Canyon Brewstillery in Tucson. Perhaps you might be able to obtain a can and report on what it tastes like.

The brewery have written this about it,"To help with the naming of the beer we turned to Baz Dale (Wg Cdr Retired and Director of RAF Benevolent Fund Scotland) for inspiration. After a few beery conversations and some historical research, it was clear that the Hurricane was an aircraft that had been hidden in the shadow of the Spitfire for too long! Contrary to popular belief, it was the Hurricane’s stability, turn around time and numbers, not the Spitfire’s speed, agility and grace, that gave the RAF the edge in the Battle of Britain."
