So, I am driving down the 210 Freeway into Pasadena to go to the Huntington Library (plant sale for members), thinking about how I should paint my Shapeways Fokker E.IV. Up ahead, I see a big rig car carrier...with an exceptional low slung all red car. Omigod, omigod, omigod, it can’t be..it was! 1966 Ferrari 330 P3, number 20, which raced at Le Mans (Parks/Scarfiotti). As I drive by, I realize it is full of race cars, including at least two Ford GT40 Mk.II. They were jammed up at an underpass, so one quick look and that was it as I zoomed past.
Then it came to me: Fokker Gulf ET.XL. One quick concept drawing later...now I just have to get my eyes to see that small again.
And just to think that when I started modelling the most advanced kit was the LEM.
Rob.
I did a series of space vehicles in the mid-sixties, too - Mercury and Gemini capsules, and later the Lunar landing module...great little kits, as I recall, from Revell, maybe. That classic GT40 orange and blue paint scheme is a winner, Bruce - it should make for a striking plane:sAprvd: Have to get cracking myself on finishing up some projects - Origins is just around the corner...
All the best,
Matt
You all talking about space models making me think I might have done an Apollo kit. I do remember having a DR1/Spad and Neuport (1/32 I think) but can't remember who made them. The Revell kits were great. I do remember the Avenger had folding wings. Fond memories.
Received my planes (11) from Dave (AIM) today so a few to do for this month. I have 5 to decal from last month and hope the have them done this week. A few more planes to add to the RTAF in WWII.
Blimey.. I find myself still painting Bolt Action British Infantry...not many left now, then I can start on something else
OK, got a few more done this week. Second slug on a BA Romanian army I was working on last month and the weekly lot of cowboys for the hobby store project. More on the table and waiting on the sidelines.

Still painting BA Brits... not many to go now
Looking good Chris. Another person I look up to for their painting skills.
And we are ready for launch or lunch . . .

1/144" scale, quite interesting . . .
Tea minus 15 and counting here Dave.
Rob.
Just a small selection from the factory production lines, floor and any other surface that is free.

Looks like elf heaven! How many teams do you deploy? Lots of activity indeed.
Irish Pixies and Spriggans.
How many figures per side Neil and how did the wet run go ? (you can hardly have a dry run with a beach landing !)
Speaking of red aeroplanes...

Nothing wrong with the little grey cells, they were scaling the Saturn V up a bit . . .

A nicely finished bevy of aircraft Paul.
Rob.
I paint my struts early on in the process - I like to get past the bits I hate doing, so I have only "fun stuff" to do towards the end.
Struts, and WHEELS! Tyres and wheels, hate doing those.
And Pilots!
Having said that, I will often return to the struts, wheels and pilots on "finished" planes, and try to improve on my earlier attempts.:hmm:
Very nice paint jobs Paul.
Anybody up for painting this monster?

They're "Sarissa" MDF 28mm models, aren't they?
Attachment 267358
Finished... blimey nothing for 2-3 years then 50 in one go.
I'm sure I started a re-paint of a DH.4 somewhere along the line - better dig that out and finish it now
Did you mean something like this? Now I just need to get the diorama done!
