New year new Prague Summer Con.

Prague SummerCon 2017 Day 1

We arrived Friday noon in the Golden City by bus after a 3,5 hour drive from Nürnberg. Quick impression of the Moldau River and the Hradschin in the Background.

Beside me my old SummerCon comrades Markus & Mario.

Had some quick Coup games and waited for the arrival in Prague Florenc.

1 pm

Bought some Metro tickets and went for Hotel Mars.

2 pm

After check in we had a lunch in the nearby restaurant.

I ordered a Hermelin chees and some special porc meat with fries and a plum sauce.

3:15 pm

Back in the hotel I spotted some Engländers in the hotel lobby, Steve (Guntruck), Paul (Tikkifriend) and Simon (Maverick) – I haven’t met before.

Short hello and I went up to the room to get some stuff for gaming.

4 pm

The first games took place in Ladinek’s game shop. Great hello with some old friends and some new faces.
I bought some stuff (WGS Dauntless bomber, WGS new Spitfire, WGF Phönix & WGF Nieuport 10) and picked up the repaint contest prizes (WGF B17F & two WGF KI84s)

5 pm

There was a BoB game hosted by Paul (Tikkifriend) and a WGF game hosted by Nemanja to start the Summer Con.

I decided to Join BoB and was lucky with the command of a Bf. 110, loaded with bombs and cannon shells, to visit a RAF airfield.

The attackers were Dennis (Nachtschwärmer) in another Bf. 110 and the escort Reg (Rebel), Daniel (Dan-Sam), Michal (Tatamichal – new pilot from Poland) in Bf.109E-3s. Commanding officer was Major von Guntruck (Steve) in his BF.109E-4.

The brave defenders were under the command of Lt. Colonel A.Sieradzki and Home Guard Volunteer Pilot 3rd class Simon Maverick in a brand new Schpittfeuer without markings. At all 3 Spitfires and a Hurricane.

The defenders threw everything into the battle and surprised us with two Bolton Defiants that joined the defence.

Never fought those planes. Same went for Reg - he was so impressed, that he catched a lot of bullets while staring at those exotic planes. The one thing you should remember: The Definat does not fire forward or rewards only to the sides, so it’s not a brilliant idea to fly side by side the whole time.

Anyways our escort kept the defenders busy on level 3 while Dennis & me dived and bombed/fired the whole airfield into pieces.

Wrecked 2 hangars, 3 trench positions and the Airfield toilets with bombs and strafing runs. Control tower, two parked Defiants and the bar survived with more or less heavy damage.

Don’t know the exact result, but I think we lost 2 Bf.109s (Dan-Sam & Reg) and shot down Simon’s Spitfire with Dennis rear gunner.

Victory was ours – a nice start of the convention. Paul did a great job hosting this nice BoB game.

Unfortunately I can’t give a report about Nemanja’s WGF Fokker Dr.I vs. Camel game, but the guys hat a lot of fun I think.

Dan-Sam put his fighters back into his bag.

9 pm

We regrouped in the hotel Mars restaurant had some beers, snacks and interesting talks with each other.
Around midnight we went to bed to be fresh for the main battle day at Saturday.

Didn’t activate the beer counter but I scored around 8 kills versus the beer reserves.

You mean Vltava and Hradčany, Sven, right?
Despite the fact that I was shoted down, it was a great mission and using Defiants was much more effective then in real BoB

The Defiants dealt out a ridiculous damage, but if you prefer a formation flight - side by side - like Reg unfortunately did, the staedy stream of bullets (+aim) brings down the strongest planes.
