With no top wing to worry about this was one of the easiest assemblies I have had. Consequently I felt the need to make it harder for myself by attempting to rig the plane.
1. As usual I started by cleaning off what revealed itself to be minimal flash.
2. Next I cleared out all the holes in the fuselage and wings, test fitting the parts as I went and adding the holes to take the rigging wires.
3. I next made and fitted the rigging support. Not supplied.
4. This was followed by the flight peg, which I dry fitted and then glued in.
5.Next came the undercart which took a little more fitting.
6. Once assembled I gave the aircraft a coat of white undercoat.
7. Then I painted the structure except where the tail was already white.
An unusual step came next, because the decals, which are usually done as late as possible to avoid undue rubbing, had to be applied before rigging. This was because some of the rigging points passed through the decals.
8. The area to be decaled was treated with Micro set and the decal applied. After ten minutes wait Micro sol was brushed over the surface to set the decal into the contours of the wings etc.
9. The decals were allowed overnight to harden off and then treated to a light varnishing to protect the surface.
10. When dry the rigging was installed.
11. The tail decals were then added.
12. Finally the propeller was glued into place.
13. The aircraft was then ready to varnish to taste.
